THE
CURE
Trilogy - Live in Berlin
I had the idea of taking the Trilogy to its logical
conclusion during The Cures worldwide Dreamtour 2000;
we should play all three albums live in one night and make a film
Robert Smith, The Cure
Live in
front of sell-out crowds for two unforgettable nights at the Berlin Tempodrom
in November 2002,
one of the worlds most highly acclaimed bands performed three of their
most admired and influential albums in their entirety:
Pornography (1982), Disintegration (1989) and Bloodflowers
(2000).
The unique
result is The Cure Trilogy Live in Berlin,
which will be released on DVD and VHS through Eagle
Vision on 2nd June 2003.
This
particular live event was always an ambitious idea, and it took a lot of mental
and physical preparation; explains Robert,
but the end result has been more than worth it. For me the realization
of the Trilogy Show is not only the fulfillment of a dream,
but also a tribute to this band line-up; the most dynamic, the most subtle,
and the most powerful
certainly the best 'Cure' Ive ever played in.
Shot on High-Definition Video using 12 cameras, this extraordinary live spectacular
includes both
Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and PCM Stereo on the double DVD,
with the VHS containing Dolby Digital Stereo.
Both formats feature all three albums in their entirety plus a further 2 song
encore:
this outstanding performance has a running time of almost 3.5 hours.
The DVD
will also feature a 30 minute interview with the band
plus further hidden interview footage and 2 hidden 'Extras'.
