THE MOMENT HAS ARRIVED!
Iconic British band The Cure announces its return to Latin America
with Shows in Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico.
LONDON, January 28th, 2013.
The Cure, one of the worlds’ most enduringly influential bands, at last returns to Latin America!
This iconic group, lead by singer and guitarist Robert Smith, has had an extraordinary career spanning more than 35 years and tens of millions of sales.
With a profusion of hit singles - including ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, ‘The Lovecats’, ‘Close To Me’, ‘Just Like Heaven’ and ‘Friday I'm In Love’ - and a range of classic albums - including ‘Pornography, ‘Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me’, ‘Disintegration’, ‘Wish’ and ‘Bloodflowers’ - the group has long been established as a global phenomenon.
While punk was still reverberating through popular culture, The Cure’s unique blend of moody, atmospheric and unforgettable songs pioneered a new era in popular music and marked them for greatness from the start. Their strong sense of theatricality and unique styling gave birth to entirely new subcultures, and new generations continue to discover their signature sound and make it the soundtrack to their lives.

The Cure - Robert Smith (vocals and guitar), Simon Gallup (bass), Jason Cooper (drums), Roger O’Donnell (keyboards) and Reeves Gabrels (guitar) - return in 2013 on the back of a run of 19 major European summer festival 2012 headline spots, which began at Pinkpop in May and ended at Eire's Electric Picnic in September, and included epic sets at Roskilde, Werchter, Hurricane, Maxidrom, Les Eurockeenes, Vieilles Charrues, Reading and Leeds along the way.
The Cure’s Robert Smith says;
“We are deliriously happy to be coming back to South America at last – we have been away for far too long! We will be playing 3+ hour shows, and have every intention of making this the most memorable Cure Tour EVER!”

THE UPSHOT IS THIS:
The listing will be taken down and relisted - with 50% going to Teenage Cancer Trust, and the remaining 50% split between charities of the sellers choice - all of this overseen by Missionfish who look after charity listings on eBay.
After the update made to your website News page (and assuming you still feel strongly about giving the fans an opportunity to bid for something that can benefit the charity) can I suggest you sign the test pressings and we auction those?

‘The Cure release ‘Friday I’m In Love’ on 100 one-of-a-kind 7’’ for Record Store Day 2012 in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. All the unique artwork for the Secret 7’’ project is now up on the site for viewing – can you guess which ones are for The Cure?!!’
Secret 7”- an exciting project combining the worlds of music and art in aid of charity – reaches its climax this month, when around 700 individually-designed seven-inch vinyl record sleeves go on display at the Idea Generation Gallery in East London.
The exhibition opens its doors to the public on April 18th, in the week running up to Record Store Day, to showcase the one-off vinyl sleeve designs by a multitude of artistic and musical contributors, including the designers of some of the most iconic album artwork of the past 20 years.
The design challenge was originally set last year by a team from Universal Music UK and Teenage Cancer Trust, who offered the choice of seven different singles for which to create a sleeve. The tracks selected to inspire the art were: The Cure’s Friday I’m In Love [released again for its 20th anniversary] Noah & The Whale’s Old Joy, Florence + The Machine’s Only If For A Night, Ben Howard’s Black Flies, DJ Shadow’s Come On Riding (Through The Cosmos), CSS’s City Grrrl and Bombay Bicycle Club’s Lights Out, Words Gone (special Dub mix).
When the resulting sleeves go on display in Shoreditch, no-one will know who designed each one, or indeed which track is inside – putting the Secret in Secret 7”!
Half of the sleeves were designed by creatives from around the world and submitted via the Talenthouse website earlier this year, a process which helped highlight the importance of the work of Teenage Cancer Trust. One young designer used her Secret 7” to immortalise her late best friend who tragically passed away from a rare form of cancer aged just 20 . Each of the seven musicians and groups who provided the tracks handpicked their 45 favourite Talenthouse sleeves to go into the show.
The remainder of the sleeves have been designed by some of the most interesting and exciting artists working today. To name just a few: David Shrigley, Michael Spencer Jones (Oasis, Verve), Andy Vella (who did the original sleeve for Friday I’m In Love), Central Station (Happy Mondays, Black Grape), Toby Mott (De La Soul), Stylorouge (Blur, The Cure, Morrissey), Richard Evans (The Who) and Grammy winner Peter Corriston (The Rolling Stones, Billy Idol, Carole King, Debbie Harry, Led Zeppelin, New York Dolls and Tom Waits). Contemporary illustrators and artists, as well as youngsters who receive support from TCT, make up the remainder of the creative team supplying the completely unique sleeves.
These artists have received an invite to the exclusive launch and gallery preview on April 17.
The gallery opens its doors to the public on April 18. On April 21 – Record Store Day – each seven-inch sleeve will be available for a minimum donation to the charity of £40 on a first come first served basis, with every penny going to Teenage Cancer Trust. Only when you’ve parted with your cash will the secrets be revealed.

“The Cure had pulled off the epitome of the "festival set" akin to Bowie at Glastonbury 2000 or Macca at Glasto '04, and every bit as legendary.” - The Guardian
"Set of the weekend.” - NME.com
“Joyous – truly the stuff of rock-and-roll icons.” The Telegraph
“Robert Smith reminding all of his ability to craft those great three minute love songs.” - Clash Magazine

Sunday Best Recordings are thrilled to announce the 5th December 2011 release of The Cure : Bestival Live 2011, a live recording of the iconic bands fabulous two and a half hour set performed at this year’s Bestival.
The double album, which is split over two CDs and also available as a digital download is made up of thirty-two Cure classics, including “The Lovecats”, “The Caterpillar”, “Close To Me”, “Friday I’m In Love”, “Lullaby”, “The Hungry Ghost”, “The End Of The World”, “Just Like Heaven”, “Grinding Halt”, “Jumping Someone Else's Train” and “Boys Don’t Cry”.
Robert Smith of The Cure says; “We had such a great time in the Isle of Wight at Bestival that we wanted to release this show as a way of thanking fans and islanders alike. Bestival IS the best!”
Rob da Bank, founder of Bestival says; “Since I was 15 and backcombing my hair, donning my sisters eyeliner and singing the lyrics to ‘A Forest’ into my hairbrush I’ve had an unhealthy fascination with The Cure. To say it reached its peak at Bestival 2011 is an understatement, as after seven years of pestering I not only landed The Cure to headline Bestival, but now appear to be putting out one of their live records on my own record label. How strange! For any of the 50,000 who were at Bestival and saw all or some of the two and a half hour set, this live album will transport you back. For fans of The Cure who didn’t make it I know this will be a legendary addition to your Cure collection!”
All profits from the sale of this album will go to the Isle of Wight Youth Trust (Reg Charity No: 1087163). The Isle of Wight Youth Trust is a charitable, independent and professional organisation offering counseling, advice, information and support services to young people aged 25 and under on the Isle of Wight (the home of Bestival) and, in some cases, their parents or carers. The Youth Trust has been working on the Isle of Wight for 27 years and has made a positive input to the wellbeing of people locally. www.iowyouthtrust.co.uk
Eileen Monks, Director of The Isle of Wight Youth Trust, says; "What wonderful news that The Cure should choose us, an Island charity of 27 years, to benefit in this way. This came completely out of the blue and at a time when it is becoming extra hard to raise funds to support our work with children and young people on the Island, further cementing our association with young people in their many interests and aspects of their lives. We would like to thank Rob da Bank for his continuing support."
THE CURE : BESTIVAL LIVE 2011 will be released on Sunday Best Recordings on 5th December 2011
