Iconic British band The Cure announces its return to Latin America
with Shows in Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico.

The Cure, one of the worlds’ most enduringly influential bands, at last returns to Latin America!
This iconic group, lead by singer and guitarist Robert Smith, has had an extraordinary career spanning more than 35 years and tens of millions of sales.
With a profusion of hit singles - including ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, ‘The Lovecats’, ‘Close To Me’, ‘Just Like Heaven’ and ‘Friday I'm In Love’ - and a range of classic albums - including ‘Pornography, ‘Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me’, ‘Disintegration’, ‘Wish’ and ‘Bloodflowers’ - the group has long been established as a global phenomenon.
While punk was still reverberating through popular culture, The Cure’s unique blend of moody, atmospheric and unforgettable songs pioneered a new era in popular music and marked them for greatness from the start. Their strong sense of theatricality and unique styling gave birth to entirely new subcultures, and new generations continue to discover their signature sound and make it the soundtrack to their lives.

The Cure - Robert Smith (vocals and guitar), Simon Gallup (bass), Jason Cooper (drums), Roger O’Donnell (keyboards) and Reeves Gabrels (guitar) - return in 2013 on the back of a run of 19 major European summer festival 2012 headline spots, which began at Pinkpop in May and ended at Eire's Electric Picnic in September, and included epic sets at Roskilde, Werchter, Hurricane, Maxidrom, Les Eurockeenes, Vieilles Charrues, Reading and Leeds along the way.
The Cure’s Robert Smith says;

I am eternally grateful for coming to Chile and have done this Latam Tour…I will always remember when in the end of the Concert Robert said “See you again...” I hope someday happen and you could come back… again and again and again... See you and listen live your music for the first time has been wonderful ...wonderfully pretty!!… it was an unforgettable night. You made me feel like a girl again...because when I was 10 years old I listened your music and loved the Robert’s voice… and now when I am 37 that remains and is even better. Thanks The Cure for giving us a moment of happiness (I needed) it was like a dream which I don’t want to wake up... Dear Robert. First of all I am infinitely grateful that you decided to do this tour of Latin America. I am Venezuelan but I live in Argentina since 4 years ago, I listen to The Cure since I was 10 years old (now I am 36), that time impressed me to see a video of you on TV. Your music has accompanied me since then, has been the soundtrack of my life. You can not imagine how much I cried with joy, jumped with excitement and I was happy when you said in an interview last year that you'd come back to Latin America, and when you named Venezuela and Argentina, Oh God! Was awesome!! I was thinking: ´ll gonna see The Cure 2 times!! yes yes !!!, but… in Venezuela failed to pass :( maybe in other time. I was like The Hobbit of Lord of the Rings when I had the ticket in my hand, it was my treasure, my precious. That night at River Plate you moved my feelings taking them to the top. I was moved when stared Plainsong, Pictures of You, I cried was beautiful. When rang "Figth" felt like the blood was running thousands of miles per hour my veins and when you played Fight I took a trip to the moon, amazing!! I can see you there with Simon, Roger, Jason and Reeves, I looked like a beautiful dream comming true. I had to see you again, so I ran to Ezeiza Airport with a good friends to say goodbye, I had to tell you that I loved you and thank you for being you and give music to my life. But my tongue tangled with my nerves and I could not speak a decent English for you. I could only ask for a photo with me (now that picture is my greatest treasure. When I asked if I could hold you for the picture and you said yes, my heart exploded with joy, I was shaking, but I was entirely happy. I hope that "see you again" as you said in River Plate will be very soon. Thank you Thank you Thank you and I love you, I love you so much!! Greetings to Tim Pope too! Is nice that he was filming the documentary, will be something quite beautiful and that many will love what it means. Your devotion to each song you played that night got to my soul, the passion you put into every word you sing, the way you feel and live your music made me understand perectly what you mean when you say you do things cause you feel it cause you're an artist and not just to sell a record. It makes a world of difference, it shows cause you get to people's hearts and souls. I will always be grateful cause I could see you live and will never forget that night. Encontrarme contigo fue como ver a un amigo cercano que no veía hace mucho tiempo, fue emocionante, no hay manera de describirlo, pensé que probablemente me haga viejo y viva frustrado porque nunca vi a THE CURE en mi vida, también pensé en juntar dinero por si alguna vez pueda ir a un lugar donde toquen ustedes, como perderme este encuentro, el destino estuvo a favor nuestro. No hubo lágrimas en mí, solo sonrisas y mucho cariño cuando te contorneabas bailando teatralmente, y también lloraste recordando quien sabe que momentos de tu vida, estimado Robert, y sonreíste como todos los de la banda, a pesar de que te olvidaste la letra también fue fascinante ver esa complicidad de tus compañeros, cuando miras a Simon Gallup como diciéndole"pucha la cague", y la sonrisa de Roger O Donell, el mas sonriente detodos, a pesar de ello, pude ver ese circulo imaginario formado por ti y porSimon Gallup a pesar de ser cinco integrantes, pensé ver a Tolhurst pero Reeves un maestro en la Guitarra, que hizo olvidarlo en ese instante. Ese sonido majestuoso de las teclas indicaba que uno de mis sueños estaba próximo a cumplirse, hasta que aparecieron lentamente caminando como orugas. Por mi mente pasaron tantas imágenes entre canción y canción como cuando tocaste "Love Song" recordé mi época de colegio cuando quería saber que decía esa letra y busque a una amiga de colegio que estudiaba Ingles para que me la pueda traducir, quede fascinado con esa letra tan locasa y mi amiga que nunca había escuchado de ti, se volvió seguidora de tu música, estoy seguro que estuvo también en el Estadio Nacional. No solo disfrute tu música también tuve imágenes en mi mente, te vi bailar con tu esposa Mary, cuando tocaste“Just Like Heaven”, esos días que veía tu video en un viejo VHS me quejaba el porque no venían a Perú, en esos momentos estaba cerca al cielo con esa luna sonriendo asombrada de ver tanta gente en el Estadio Nacional, la música es mágica.” Pictures of You” me hizo recordar la bomba maratónica que nos metimos con unos amigos una semana santa sin ir casa,me la pase como 3 horas retrocediendo en el viejo cassette para poder escuchareste tema, repetidamente, me sentí tanjoven en esos momentos. “Lullaby”, “Fascination Street” nuevamente me hicieronvolar a mi juventud, esa época que iba con mi Walkman caminando hacia ninguna parte escuchando día tras día el cassette “Dissintegration”, esa época que rumoreabas que The Cure se iba a separar. “Play for Today” fue ver ese concierto en Orange que veía en el viejo televisor blanco y negro, en canal 7, siempre llevaba mi cassete en el bolsillo para que la pongan en los tonos New Wave de Lima, “ A Forest” fue grandiosa con esas imágenes del video y las luces verdes con un Jason Cooper concentradísimo como siempre, “The Walk” y sus sonidos envolventes que aceleraban mi corazón y me sentía mucho mas joven nuevamente, “Friday I´m in Love”, me hizo recordar esa chica huraña que conocí un viernes por la noche, tan rockera como yo, en una fiesta de promoción donde los dos nos perdimos en un rincón, para olvidar que en la fiesta ponían otros ritmos de moda, brillaron los ojos. “One HundredYears” me hizo vestir de negro, recordando mi cassete “Pornography”, traído deInglaterra por un amigo, un cassete que me daba cierto temor escucharlo hasta que se convirtió en sonidos de mi vida. “End” me hizo estremecer. El lado mas emotivo para mi fue escuchar “The Kiss” y “IfOnly Tonight we Could Sleep” ambas del álbum “Kiss me Kiss me, Kiss me”, estecassete fue lanzado en Perú y recuerdo que lo compre en una discotienda de Miraflores, cuando lo abrí quede encantado con el ojo de Robert viéndome, era extraño encontrar un cassete con una caratula de 3 cuerpos y con más tiempo de duración, generalmente los vendían con solo una caratula y de un solo lado. Una producción que me fascina y cada vez que puedo vuelvo a escucharlo. No penséoír “Fight”, ese momento fue divino tan cercano a la grabación original, enesos tiempos de sonidos extraños y melancolía. Sabía que el momento de despedirse se acercaba, pero aún hiciste remecer más mi añejo corazón con el segundo Encore, Todas las canciones fascinantes del “Entreat” un concierto depor si mas pausado pero no exento de emociones, nuevamente los recuerdos “Plain Song, “Prayers for theRain”, “Disintegration” fue realmente alucinante a pesar del dolor de pies, el cuerpo daba para más y sabia que la despedida iba a ser extrema a pesar de la pasividad de la gente. “CloseTo me” me hizo revivir esos momentos en que con mi madre hacíamos bailar a miperrita cada vez que la ponía en esa vieja grabadora “Philips”. Todo setransformó cuando tocaste “10:15 Saturday Night” y la despedida con “Killing AnArab”, Tomándote la palabra espero vuelvas para volver a reencontrarnos, y porque no compartir escenario con mi banda Ilusion Marchita, total soñé con verte y se cumplió mi sueño, no te diré como dicen muchos que ahora me puedo morir en paz, como me preguntó en son de broma mi amigo Jorge de Ensamble,al contrario es un motivo para sentirme más vivo y como te lo repito sentirme rejuvenecido. Nos vemos pronto …
