wow

This was the 3rd one I bought. After I got "Kiss Me" I went and got Disintegration a while later (maybe a month or two it had just come out, but don't really remember), this was also one of the other tapes on the wall (really wasn't much to choose from). So I bought Disintegration and this. It took me a few years to really appreciate this album, since I was pretty young to understand the themes and emotions, but once I got to about 16 or 17, it grew on me, probably more so than Disintegration (perhaps teen angst? lolz). But now that I am MUCH older, I really love both albums equally, though I tend to find Disintegration more sensual, and Pornography more angry.

I love Porn!

Seems almost a travesty to say that probably the darkest time in the Cures history is one of my favourite moments in their recording history but thats the way it is. Everyone who is a fan of the Cure knows the Pornography sound, edgey, aggressive, knocks away at you. The 8 original tracks all sound as good as ever on the reissue. But the second disc is a real treat. I really love the demos of their classic songs, even going so far as to say the Hanging Garden demo version is actually better than the actual released version. The highlight of this collection is probably the Airlock: Soundtrack track. 13 minutes plus of edgey spacey noise and ambiance which if listened to loud and in the dark is a deeply disturbing experience. A landmark this one!
