Monday, july 30th is gonna be your lucky day huh....
Cool! Hi Bananafish Bones! Mga kabayang maka-Cure! I'm absolutely sure this concert is going to rock! See you there!
Oh yes, I'm counting days, too. I'm overexcited that I hardly sleep lately. That's why I'm still posting messages here.;)
OMG can't wait for my ticket to arrive. BTW Staceyjun, what kind of ticket did you book? The free standing zone?
it's the free standing zone. Or else, I can't get closer to them.;)
Be patient. You'll receive your ticket soon for sure.
Thanks Jenny for the camera info..seems like a lot of us are travelling from overseas there alone..fingers crossed for a wonderful night!...The Cure never fail to deliver and this time I could go home and visit mum at the same time..how nice!...now..all I need is a cheap flight ticket..wish me luck,please!..anyone else going to Fuji rock or the Australian/NZ legs too?!..e
ang galing nila mga pre!nasa tapat ako ni porl, isa ako sa mga tumatalon talon dun lalu na ng lumapit sa amin si robert,di ko makalimutan nung kinanta nya yung close to me sa harap ko at nag sasayaw pa sya
At long last!!!
The Cure!!! Live!!! Here!!!
To be seen directly through my eyes and heard directly by my ears!!!
My years of vicarious enjoyment of recorded Cure concerts has finally seen its end!
I will fly in and see you in Hong Kong, July 30th. I will be the guy at front, with a 15 year-old (albeit freshly washed) Boys Don't Cry t-shirt on, looking like he's dazed and just happy to be there...
Thank you for this!
only few people are attending the Hong Kong show?
Well, it might be sad a bit, but at the same time I'd be happy because it'll turn out to be a very intimate concert, isn't it.
I'm excited for not only seeing the real Cure but also meeting funs from other countries.
Let's share a memorable moment!
but ..to say it was the best gig is a little ott
what i really miss is the slam dancing circle in the front zone!!..come on guys..what a bunch of pussies.
i miss the way primary no longer has distinctive chugga chugga flanger sound synced in with the strobes (great for slam)
i miss awsome backlighting of the band...no front light..so they look like silhouettes from hell.
but i am spoiled since i saw them right through the 80s/early 90s...until this one ..first for a long time.
but ....it acctually was a great gig..
and if you didnt mind getting deafened you could practically walk right up to the front on either side without much hassel. got a great view of gallup on that one.
on the subject of cameras...if you are embeded at the front standing then there is very little security can do even if you whip out a big camera...say brought in on deep thigh pockets.
however if you are on the edge even with a camera phone ..security is just such a pain.
if this is the case try to sheild the back screen ..or dim it ...cause this is what stands out a mile ..and thats what your average joe security dude homes in on.
good luck with singapore

3 hours vs 1 hr: Agreed. It's really a matter of what position you end up in line and how much change there will be between the opening music and the Cure going on.
Interview: Im the one that sent that to Craig @ chainofflowers. Id love to hear more from the author of the original blog (@ Hong Kong Ham) here. I might email him directly.
Hong Kong Event: This is so much quieter than the Singapore thread. Is that because fewer people are going? Is Hong Kong less interesting? I can certainly extend my trip out there to Singapore as well, but before I do Im curious as to why the HK ppl are so much less talkative?
I guess theres no way of knowing how early until the show....it's too bad the venue isnt closer in (30 minutes, near the airport, right?). Usually we give it 3 hours or so ahead...mostly can't stand to sit around doing nothing much longer than that. At least it's not a festival (as much as Ive totally enjoyed a lot of the other music) where you have to hold your ground for 5 hours...
There are really not many The Cure fans here in Hong Kong, given that Hong Kong is such a small place and most people like those boring pop songs. 6 or 7 of my friends here wanna go, but I am the only one who bought ticket already...
Here are the information about the venue. There are some photos showing the venue and there is a venue map http://hkticketing.com/eng/
Hope it's helpful!
When I bought ticket from the box office here in HK few days ago, the cashier told me that tickets for the best 4 blocks (block 4 and block 14 $780 seats) are sold out.
Just ordered my ticket..Yay!..Never been to Asia World Arena...any idea if cameras are allowed?!...e
Just ordered my ticket too :)
I'll have to go to Hong Kong with my non-Cure-fan sister, and go to the gig alone. But I don't care!
My friend went to see Muse in the Arena this March. I'll ask him about cameras...
I will be visiting Hong Kong alone, but it doesn't matter much.
I can meet thousands of the Cure fans there anyway.;)
Yes! I'm going to Fuji. I'm looking forward to see you guys there.
BTW, I've just found out that duration of the Singapore show has been revised. Now it's 150 min as Rober previously said in his post.
So what about Hong Kong?
I hope people of the ticket agent simply forget to rewrite their site.
Hey, I'm glad to help. I'll also bring my camera!! I need something to prove it's not a dream. :P
The HK ticket site still haven't revise the duration time...Anyway, I belive in Robert. It's not like they can force The Cure to cut down their show, anyway...;)
don't worry..I've never been to a Cure show that is less then 3hrs..beside..if the show starts at 8pm as planned..ending at 11pm + shouldn't be a problem..to the most Robert might have to pay a fine....I think we can trust Robert :)..
i haven't see the cure in over 20 years but they were beyond all expectations last night. what surprised me was how heavy the guitar work got about two thirds through the performance.33 songs was great value for all present...thought all were great but if i had to pick 3 of the best on the nightit would be blood, pictures of you and in between days.
if they are half as good in singapore as in HK you are in for a real treat
Your pictures are great. Oh, I do hope I don't run into trouble with my camera.
lorrainey, your link as posted doesn't work. I added a "y" to make www.friendlypost.com and I got somewhere with it. But, since the page is entirely Chinese, I wasn't sure if it was traditional Chinese or what. I'd love to see your photographs. Could you provide a direct link to them? Please.
So glad all you good people had fun at the show. I wish I had been able to be there. I would have loved to have been able to share the experience with you.
I think the events just go bye-bye as they occur
If you click on "events' you can see that the Fuji Festival is already gone. If you want to further discuss the Hong Kong show (or anything else), start a thread in the community Open topics section. Other's will jump in and throw in their two cents, to be sure. Even so, there are people who are very interested in the show who didn't get to go (like myself) who would love to hear ALL about it.
So glad you all had such a great time.
Love :-)
