I can't sleep. This time tomorrow I will be remembering the time I saw the most amazing show ever. I can't wait for it, but sad that it will end. Anyone know what I am talking about??? We need Cure TV (in case you haven't read it yet, go to the home page). I don't want it to end!
8:40 am and im grinding my teeth like a crack head, some one give me a rawhead bone to soothe me!!!
I am off the whole week b/c I know that is how long it will take to recoupe from total exhaustion from the excitement I am feeling. I can't fucking wait to see you tonight Robert!!!!
But what to wear??? My goth clothes don't fit anymore after having 2 kids. Kind of have the mom look going on now. May have to make a stop by Hot Topic before the show. :)
Ok, not really, but I've got a scratched retina. I got some sawdust in my left eye on Saturday, which was a huge pain to get out. I thought everything was fine afterwards but this morning, the bright light about killed me. I got some medicated drops for it, and they seem to be working, but if you happen to see some guy wandering around ina very stylish pair of wrap around optometrist shades, that'll probably be me. :)
...and as a Brit living in the US makes it seem even better (I'll be wearing the Union Jack T-Shirt).
Robert - there's a cold Caffrey's in the fridge if you're interested.
I have waited 23 years to finally see y'all in concert! I am beyond excited! Thank you for coming to Charlotte, please don't let it be your last time! See from center stage tonight, I'll be the one screaming completely out of control...LOL!
I didn't think I was going to get to go. I just scored front row seats! I think I may throw up now. LOL.
In the off chance that Robert sees this, I just want to thank him in advance for what will most surely be the best musical experience of my life. I've been a devoted fan for *ahem* 20+ years. Your music has basically been the soundtrack of my life.
thank you and the guys for being the musicians and people that you are and for making music for all these years. It would have been easy to have "called it a day" years ago but, you continue making beautiful music and helping inspire a new generation of fans. And for that - I am eternally grateful.
See you tonight!!!!!
I'm calling in sick Monday. I'm going to be completely worthless in anticipation of the show, I've been pulling ridiculous overtime, and quite simply, I just don't feel like working.
See you all around five at Dixie's Tavern then!
I will be more than surprised if they DON'T play it there... They did it at the soundcheck in Tampa, so Charlotte - BE PREPARED FOR ONE OF THE GREATEST CURE SONGS...
I'm planning on bugging out of work early if possible, but regardless, I should in town by 7:00.
Greg, thanks for the invite. curefanNC, see you there!

to the fans wanting to meet up before the show....hate to tell you but theres no "deserving places" for US. but my big crew is gathering at dixies tavern starting after work at 5. its the closest bar to the arena, and its at the end of the light rail to avoid downtown parking rates. will be some very cool old school 80's alternative kids gathering. some gathering for the first time since 89 our sacred leader has made charlotte the temporary mecca. joins us. we wont be hard to miss. just look for the people in their mid 30's that have that unmistakable smile on their face. totally fucking stoked and giddy 3 days out. feels like 89 again.
see you soon.

dear robert....oh dear robert....
its a long shot that you read this. yet if by the miracle of a higher power....a simple request for monday in charlotte...
im well aware you have a set lest structure, and this song is in your main set list to be played at a certain point at the end of the main set.....but....for the good of this city, which has so many people who will come to hear you play your brilliant pop songs and only that, ive taken it upon my undeserving admiration and respect to suggest opening with "one hundred years". ive traveling all over the the US and europe to see you play, ive seen the effect and energy and intensity and mood this song sets as an opener. and for the first time in history, youre playing my home town charlotte. lets just say this city thinks they have an idea of what a cure concert might be. an opener of one hundred years will shake this town to the core, and show them who the real cure they thought they knew really is, and it would bring back the intense passion of all my high school aged friends from 20+ years ago who ive bought tickets for that are also the guys that turned me onto the cure via 87. brought one of them with me to curiosa. he has since turned on the magic of that album until you played 100 years/strange day...his eyes lit up and he went into a frenzy about how much this "feeling" made a difference in his life, how much he missed listening to it. im on the same level, yet further.told him to shut up and just listen, you have that cd at home.
ok enough of the back story bullshit RS......if you play that as the opening song....im front row in front of porl and my head will gladly explode!!! as the unofficial cure fanatic ambassador of charlotte, a city that needs to see the light and show some soul....show them! 3 days away, till then have the vcr/dvd player stocked with in orange/play out/picture show/trilogy/festival 2005 and a beat to hell copy of staring at the sea.
footnote....at the rare chance you read this....and one hundred years as an opener doenst make my head explode, go and play holy hour and other voices. will make sure my girlfriend brings plastic to not get any skull shrapnel on you or simon or porl.

"In Santa Barbara, on Robert's guitar, no one seemed to know why there was a sticker "Monday, February 11th." Do you know what it references

I loved this show! Of course, I've never seen them play when it wasn't amazing! Charlotte was a bit different from the DC show. The DC show was a lot sloppier, but in a fun way. They seemed a lot tighter in Charlotte, and RS was doing a bit more talking than I've seen in a while. The set list kicked ass in Charlotte, but the DC show had more of the deep cuts. I guess that's what happens when you film a concert: the newer stuff comes up to the top. I have to say that I loved seeing them totally get off track with each other in--was it Close to Me or Inbetween Days? One of those. Can't wait to see schmakt's vid. We had seats in the way back, so I saw no faces, just lights in my eyes. AWESOME SHOW!
I was at the Atlanta show with a friend, but drove up to Charlotte by myself the next day to see The Cure again.
My jaw is still on the floor, my friends. I got the Seventeen Seconds encore that I was praying for at the Atlanta show, but was then treated to a totally unexpected Faith encore at the Charlotte concert.
The folks in Berlin can have their Pornography/Disintegration/Bloodflowers Trilogy show. I've always been a Seventeen Seconds/Faith man myself, so these two shows in Atlanta and Charlotte blew my world away.
I have been looking forward to seeing a Cure show for well over 20 years and I finally had my chance. Best concert I have even been to.
Does anyone know where I can download this show? I found the Boston show, but I was at the Charlotte show and I would really love to have a recording.
Please help!
