sorry, I said 790 Czech Crowns is about 30 UK pounds. It's not, it's £20. Bargain!

MORE INFO ABOUT PRAGUE

Hello! Sorry I didn't respond before... that's because I went to Prague for Christmas :-))
I would like to give you more info about Prague, so you don't end up paying too much money, it's not that cheap city anymore! :-)
- NEVER use a taxi unless you really need to!!!!! they're nasty and expensive!
- for a city transport, for foreigners I always recommend to buy 24hrs travel ticket. From 01/01/2008 it should cost 100Kc (about £3).You can use underground, trams and buses for 24hrs,anywhere in Prague.I always use it,it saves me time buying single tickets (about 20Kc each)and I don't have to keep checking the 'expire' time all the time.Bear in mind there are no 'barriers' in Prague underground (so its different to London or Paris),but you still should have your tickets 'stamped' -by the entrance to tube and in all buses and trams. There are many 'secret' inspectors inside tube tunnels and on buses/trams,often accompanied by policemen!!!

My Lovesong

Dear The Cure,

I‘ve turned 37 last week. I feel a bit old but that’s not what I wanna talk about. The thing is that I have been listening to you for 22 years now…
I remember that day in 1986 as it was yesterday: I walked in my high school clasroom, sat down and my mate presented me with an audio cassette. There was a New Order’s Low Life album on B side and The Cure’s Seventeen Seconds on side A. At that time I had no idea, didn’t know these bands and never heard it before. So I played the cassette in the evening and did like New Order and did not like The Cure. In a few days that same mate showed me a picture of Robert Smith. And I thought to myself: “What a freak! I will never listen to a band looking and sounding like this!”
Couple of weeks later, after listening to Seventeen Seconds probably ten times, I had completely fallen in love with your music. And I started following you in every possible way: got myself all the albums, colected all the pictures and photos I was able to find and even bought myself a lipstick and grew my hair to look more like Robert. 1990 was the year when I saw you live for the first time here in Prague. And it was amazing. I was so close to the podium and everybody looked at me strangely when I guessed the first song before the show started – Shake Dog Shake (I was thinking Orange that night)… And I danced and sung and even almost fainted during A Forest due to the extreme hot and no water around (don’t worry, we all got saved).
Then Wish arrived and Wild Moon Swings and I saw you again quite soon in 1996 in Prague again. And it was even better then before. Suddenly, to my greatest surprise and feeling like a dream come true, you were back to Czech Republic again in 1998! So I took a car and went to Brno where I heard If Only Tonight We Could Sleep live for the first time. I was in heaven although I had to sleep in a car in a freezing cold… And I dreamt about me playing keyboards or guitar in The Cure because by then I knew all the songs by heart and actually really played those instruments!
Bloodflowers in 2000. Need I say more? I was so lucky and happy to hear you, my beloved band again in the same year back in Prague. I somehow knew that you would play M during this show but I had a few beers before the event so I almost missed it and heard half of it on my way back to my seat…
What am I actually trying to say to you? As I am unable to find the words I would like to say, just read Lovesong’s lyrics and you’ll know.
You never deserted me. You never judged me. You never failed me. Everytime I felt sad you were there. Everytime I felt happy you were there. I cannot recall loving other music that much even after I heard some of your songs over a hundred times.
You’ve been there for me since 1986 and you always will be.
So dear Robert, Simon, Porl and Jason – thank you very much for keeping me alive.
Now I only wish I could meet you for a minute and thank you personally. Maybe when you are sight-seeing or beer-tasting in Prague … The beer is on me, all right?
I’ve seen your show four times. Please let me celebrate this fifth one by meeting you.

You are my Cure.
