Ok, peeps. Am I freaking out or is the Edit post button missing???

Well, that bites!!

It was so nice to be able to correct typos... for that first day.

Maybe if I close my eyes and come back later it will magically reappear?

I KNEW that I had seen an edit button! I remember commenting on it- & then I saw Sooty commenting on it ...

Holy crap, Glimmms!!!!

I just went through and checked some of my posts and some show the "Edit" feature and some DON'T!!!!

I'm not crazy (well, at least right at the moment!)

Ok, guess there are still some bugs to be worked out here.

yep. just like i thought. when i posted this comment, it was available for me to add this on.

but, i've noticed that other posts that i've made, it's not available.

so, how long that the edit button is available is a wonder...i think maybe only just until making another post.

i added on that above and now this...it's still available. but i haven't made a different post yet. i'll check that now.

....i made a different post and now the edit buttons on my post here are gone.

so, apparently we have time to think twice...fix typos...bite our tongue...whatever...but once we post something else, our previous post is etched in stone.

I just posted on another thread, and my Edit button was there, but then, with older posts, it's gone again... maybe a time limit??

maybe - this might be a daft idea - but maybe...

perhaps the Edit button expires after an allotted time?

i have been on another message board where it seems you only get so long to edit your message - i.e. only when it is still new.
after a while your message ceases to be new and so the Edit button is nolonger available.

that might be a bit mad, i know - but i have seen it in practice. maybe that's what happens here?

Maybe you guys are right...

I didn't realize there were other message boards that do that. That is so lame if this is the case!! If you're kinda scatterbrained like me, sometimes you don't catch your typos until later ~ much later. Well, that's kind of a tease... FINALLY give us an edit post button but you can only use it when there is a full moon and the winds are blowing out of the southwest, when the planets are all in alignment! :P

the quote feature is nice so that when you want to call someone an asshole (which I felt driven to do already) then a whole row of folks don't think I calling each of them an asshole. i'm very particular about who and when and why an asshole. to call everyone and asshole makes me an asshole. the quote feature helps sort out all that angry name-calling.


i'm delighted with the edit feature for right then and there because that is when i most usually notice my ignorant mistakes. i type too fast. and terribly inaccurately too. and grammatically pathetic. usually i don't catch the grammar errors until too late...i'm look stupid. and the spellchecker in Safari works pretty good. I've been glad that was invented...but I've already screwed it up by accidently clicking ignore and now those words are forever wrong and i haven't figured out how to fix it yet. *shrugs*

but deleting posts...no. i've seen the trouble it creates. it instigated a out and out war here once upon a time. no more war.

Yeah, Suzanne ~ it would be F'd if posts were mysteriously disappearing, but we don't even have the option to "delete" our posts (yet).

Whatever... I just liked the fact that you could change/edit posts for fucken typo sakes. And anyways, regardless of the new features ~ I'm sure the powers that be will still be able to delete posts if the mood strikes, so I could kinda care less. Gotta love being able to copy and paste a post that has meaning to you I guess.
