commercial failure

Just read some first-week predictions of how the album will be doing and it is weaker than anything else before.

In the US, sales are predticted to be around 20000-25000, in comparison: the last cd made over 90000 and the ones before ca. 70000.
In the Uk, the album will be placed in the Top 30; up to now every studio album went into the Top 10 except for Bloodflowers which at least made No. 14.

What a horrible decline of sales all of a sudden. Bad marketing? the delays? people not accepting the new line-up?

sad, because it is a great album!

Strange... 4:13 Dream was at No.14 in the UK iTunes store album chart yesterday...

You think?

The Marketing of this album has been very innovative and clever to date I think. The success of the Singles, the Rome Show and the accolades being received along the way have set it up beautifully. Momentum is gathering and it will continue to go onwards and upwards. :)

With the singles, they had a poor showing on iTunes (barely getting into the top 100 on the download chart there), obviously people were buying the physical single rather than MP3. But then all the singles did alright in the proper charts here in England. If you continue using that logic, the album should reach number one!!! :o)

LOL. Don't appologise - I now have a new term to confuse the hell out of people. I like to do that, cruel but fun. :) I will take the opportunity to say twittin is a stupid word - that was used on me today, I'm like what?

Hmmm...

I never pay attention to the charts or predictions. I just listen to what I like. Anyway...I'd say it should do alright from what I've seen anyway.

Oh you don't know that word? I thought it was from around your way. It means the the small bits of parkland you cross as you walk from street to street to get to a main road. Like I said stupid. :)

Good marketing!

At the largest record store here in Norways capital (Oslo), "4:13 Dream" has its own shelf at the moment. Its is really being put in front of all the CD buyers. And all the big papers here has given the CD fairly good reviews.

So, I don't know about the rest of the world, but I hope and believe this CD will do good in Norway!

it is 2 days after the USA release...2 days.

What?

to deem it a "commercial failure" is absurd after 2 days after release. It took a few weeks for each of the singles to kick off to a number one single or close to it. And since then we have had a global bottoming out of the stock market and all that other scary stuff. So it is completely absurd to declare this album a "failure". The first week "predictions" are just that...predictions. And to be fair, the first week isn't even over yet. For the American numbers, there are still 5 days to go. And Japan hasn't been released yet.

Oct. 24th - Italy, Germany
Oct. 27th - Europe
Oct. 28th - North America
Nov. 5th - Japan

so WHY did you rush to email COF and then post here with figures like this prematurely and personally deem the album a "failure"? you were just being a curepecker I suppose. And an asshole.
