OMG! You CANNOT really be this stupid!

Okay. Let's review:

You have come to thecure.com forums, a place that has been quite clearly constructed in order for Cure fans to congregate, & fawn over their favorite musical group.
Okay. This being established, you do realize you have essentially asked for a verbal ass kicking?

I mean, if you don't like the album, okay. The album itself isn't on trial. It's really more about your poor choice of picking this particular assemblage in order to voice those views. You can't possibly be so daft as to expect your statement to be received with any level of welcome, can you?

Good luck.

This is the right place for me to be as I am a huge Cure-fan.
I'm not stupid because I'm a surgical trainee.

That being said I'm hugely disappointed by the album;
The lyrics without meaning, the dull drums, the light guitars and the poor production.
This seems more to me like a light version of a Cure album.

I'm not the only one with this opinion, if you review the allmusic and other online opinions they say the same.

The Cure is not worthy of such an album.
At least not The Cure I know of Disintegration or Pornography.
Heck, even "The Cure" album was way better than this one.

It's the absolute absence of criticism and common reality that causes fans like you to lift mediocre albums to the status of all-time favorites.

In delusion and absence of common sense ?

Just because you are academic does not mean that you are not stupid. Stupid is coming in here with this crap. If you can't process 4:13 Dream that is your problem, deal with it.

The whole fucking world likes all the shite music in the charts. So you say the most popular music is the best? I don't think you can be a cure fan if you care what the whole world says...get a fucking grip.
And when I was at uni, most people were stupid. They made me feel sick just talking to them.

User RankMs.PinkEyes

ok...heres the thing..

If you listened to 4:13 with the thought that it would sound like Disintegration, then I can see why you might think it sucks. However..none of the Cure albums sound the same except for maybe Seventeen Seconds or Faith. If you can go into listening to 4:13 with an open mind that its going to sound different then I think you might find it enjoyable. Have you even tried listening to the album on repeat? Alot of the songs require that you listen to them more than once.

I've often found that if you are a fan of Wish and Wild Mood Swings (two of my FAVORITE Cure albums!) that you'll like this album

LOL

I don't think there's anything wrong with saying a Cure album sucks on a Cure forum. I mean, it IS a Cure album; where else would a fan say it?

I love it though, I'm on my 4th listen and I'm so happy with it. Honestly speaking, I've liked pretty much all their albums over the years, but there have always been tracks on each I've absolutely hated. Well, most of them. This is the first time I've liked every track, but time will tell, hee. You can grow to love a track or grow to hate it. *shrug*

Anyway point being, when I want to discuss my love or hate for anything Cure, it's usually Cure forums I do it on. We all do.

Re: Re: HA HA HA HA

Well, just because you are a surgical trainee does not make you impervious to poor judgment. And what I just find interesting is that you would suggest something so negative to a group of people, some of which have an obviously fanatical devotion. I simply feel that, although your feelings may hold validity, they might best be shared elsewhere among people who might be more inclined to agree with you. For example, the other places online that you had mentioned seeing negative reviews. I guess I am just saying, if it were me, I would have chosen elsewhere to air my grievances. Whatever.

Also, I might point out that there are people in this world who are brilliant with menial jobs. This can be either due to their own design, or an unfortunate situation. The choices a person makes in regards to their employment is not necessarily a reflection on their level of intellect. That in mind, I kind of think it's funny how you said to kahloist "Uhu :-) What's your job then Einstein?" Um. You do realize that Albert Einstein worked for a Patent Office, right?

Now, to approach the issue of the album itself. It's not fair to compare the new album against the old albums because the band then is not the band now. I am not only referring to the line up changes they have experienced, but also the realities that the respective members live in. The dynamics of their existence have more than likely changed. Priorities will evolve as they get older, and this will be reflected in their thought patterns and creative process. I think it would be fairer to compare the album to albums from other bands in the same situation. That situation being a well established band/artist that has gotten a little bit older, and still chooses to create.

Now, Jannis94, you lost any credibility you may have thought you had by saying "the whole world says the new album sucks"... such a silly statement to make from someone who obviously thinks of herself as a very well educated person. Okay, you don't like the album, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. Obviously 99.99% of people on this site love the album, and you knew your statement was provocative...didn't you? There are ways and means of expressing ones opinions my dear, and one would hope that before you pick up a scalpel, your decision making and thought processess regarding the end results from your actions are much more mature and finely tuned. Your statement about the world and it's opinion of the new album really has made you look quite daft to be honest. Oh, and the comment to someone about their occupation, then the Einstein barb? Do not dare think for one minute that just because you are a surgical intern that you sit atop any of these people. Your posts suggest something else completely.

I've listen to this album 20 times so far...Sorry..I'm a little disappointed. I have ever Cure Album…and wanted to really like this album….The first song Track 1 “Underneath the Stars” is awesome and the best…but the others…not so good…please don’t blast me ..just keeping it real gals/guys…I also kind of like “The Hungry Ghost” Track 7.

I think this is the teaser album...this is a
B-side album and the next album is the real album..with tracks like A boy I never knew..as u all know this was supposed to be a double album!

But that's just my opinion. ;-)

Do I think the album is perfect? I don't know. I got it to late to pop it in and crank it loud, tonight. Tomorrow will be the day of judgment.

Personally, right now, from listening to live only.. I will say my favs are 'It's Over', 'Freakshow', and 'The Reason Why'. They, so far, from live listenings, are my favs.

But, I dig them (songs) all. However, I have heard the studio versions are the lesser of the best. And that the live versions are better. Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know. I'll listen a few times and see, and maybe report my findings here. :-P

well spotted...it was meant to be. Just to see how this person feels when someone talks "down" to them. Not nice, is it? As has been said a few times here, if Jannis94 had indeed left out the "Einstein" comment, people probably wouldn't be reacting like they are. So, whilst I don't usually involve myself with arguements on forums, I was fairly pissed to read that, as it immediately gave the impression that Jannis94 thought herself lofty compared to others here. If there's one way to rile people, it's to speak down to them, don't you think? Anyway, enough of this...love the album btw..hehe...

everybody has a right to like or not like whatever they choose.

What pisses me off a LOT is that when a person decides that it is perfectly okay to come to an artist's own website to post stupid shallow threads or comments on whatever derogatory load of shit that crosses their itsy bitsy stupid shallow minds and expect those fricking debased comments to hold up under serious scrutiny to be anything more than classless ignorance they actually are. And I seriously love the "i'm a surgical assistant student" self glorification on this one. As if that makes it "wise".

Like I said before...whatever. Stupider and shallower comes through louder and clearer than the usual stupid and shallow on this one.
