Boris Williams, why he doesn't back to the Cure?

I want to know, why Boris isn't in the Cure, if he is the best drummer on Cure history, jason has a level, but Boris is better, please confirm Robert why you don't bring back Boris? or Boris doesn't want to.

Jason has been The Cure's drummer longer than Boris, Lol, and Andy Anderson

I am sure it might be something to do with the fact that Jason is indeed a good drummer and Robert wants him to be there.

Re: Boris Williams, why he doesn't back to the Cure?

*sigh*
The old Boris versus Jason thread AGAIN!!!
The reason that Jason is in The Cure and Boris is not is because
Robert WANTS Jason there.
Do people honestly think that because a few people tell him to dump Jason, Robert will go "Ok....sorry Jason, you're out!"????
It just ain't gonna happen folks!!
Arsenic mentioned that Jason has been the Boys' longest serving drummer...
Damn straight!!! The haystack-haired one must be doing something right eh??

LOL why do people think that it is an issue even?
If you left a job 15 years ago
what makes you think your old boss would give a toss about what you are doing now?

Answer to original question...

Borris doesnt come back to the cure because they dont need two drummers!

Jason's been doing it longer, he's a damn good drummer, and with WMS fought off other drummers. So please, let's not start this again. Besides, Jason has very nice eyes. And on the Trilogy DVD, with the interview, his voice is soo sweet! :P

Jason Fan club?

Whatever happened to the Jason Fan Club???

I signed up but haven't received my badge yet.

Jason's great and he's in The Cure. They are on great form at the moment so why change?

I met the band and he fits in really well, He's a top bloke and he has the same great name as me (Jason, not Cooper).

Shall we move on now?

Re: Boris Williams, why he doesn't back to the Cure?

I have always loved Boris!! He is simply fabulous and holds a special place in my heart but please consider the following;

Robert selected Jason as the drummer for The Cure in 1995 following Boris' voluntary departure.
Jason is an excellent drummer, otherwise we all know he wouldn't have been selected and certainly wouldn't have lasted 14 years.
And why do people think that Boris is waiting for Robert to call and invite him back - Boris might actually have a life of his own and not be waiting by the phone.
Jason's here - Boris isn't - and it doesn't look like that is going to change.

take care

'cause he's the past, 'cause jason is future , 'cause jason is more more *1000 better, 'cause Bob&Co. don't want him back, 'cause he doesn't want come back, 'cause he can't play jason' songs, 'cause we don't want a drummer kicked from Thompson Twins, 'cause we don't want a drummer that makes always song in speed and plays always the same riff, 'cause Jason is the best cure drummer in the history, 'cause a pathetic spanish guy never win, 'cause we don't want a drummer that destroy a lots of concerts, 'cause with Jason the cure keeps in another (much more better) level in drums and 'cause we don't want a BOLD band xD

Close this story and enjoy The Cure, the best band in the world.
Maybe we have to improve Mr.Smith to bring back Perry or Roger, no??

Williams, pffff... if he was a godd drummer , why he's dead after the Cure??

Jason's been doing it longer, he's a damn good drummer, and with WMS fought off other drummers.

HAHA WRONG! Robert chose another drummer (do your homework and find out who was the chosen one!) but the producer of WMS recommended Jason because he was younger and his inexperienced background and could bring vitality to the band.
Robert agreed and hired him. His worst decision ever!

The Bestival 2011 confirms that he STILL CAN'T play PFT properly!!! (and many others either)

RichFit,

You really have a wild stink bug up your ass about Jason to go digging in the way way back machine or something to find a post from 2 years and 7 months ago (wtf!) just to be a smartass about it. Your argument is as stale as a a pretzel left for equally as long under a sofa cushion.

WhatEVER!

and what's with your (confused) belief "The Bestival 2011 confirms that he STILL CAN'T play PFT properly!!! (and many others either) "

After hearing the wonderful version of A reflection, I was expecting the same quality level in Play for Today but it didn't happen... from the first couple of notes anyone can notice that the drums are WRONG! Jason can't still get the feeling in his bass drum playing. He plays the notes but his swing is W-R-O-N-G and you CAN feel it, I'm sure.

*yawn* Go start your own band and butt out over this one. Seriously. You are so malicious and rigid and note perfect political that it's ruined your appreciation of the music, the band, the past, the future. You can't enjoy The Cure except to use them as a scapegoat for YOUR idea of what perfectionism is, should be, and all that other jazz. You are living like you have a golden drum stick DEEP up your wahzoo. Why don't you use it to poke that stink bug that's already squirming around up there.

Here's a thought, go be a drum teacher and create a little Boris of your own that you can play pretend with! You can teach the little dickens to be your perfect little drum machine that never changes anything around because GOD FORBID it might actually set some wackadoodle...such as I'm thinking you must be...off and have an ongoing nightmare that involves bass drums too. Just like you!! Sounds kinky.

Go get fixed. Take a nap. Get a hobby. But please, please, go somewhere an cry this river where it matters. You've been going on and on and on and on about it HERE for fucking YEARS and nobody REALLY cares what you think. Not really. I sure don't.

1) Hahaha! YOU are telling ME to get a life? I'm not the one who has thousands of posts here...

2) If you have been reading my posts lately (I'm sure you do because you live here) then you can't say I'm requesting Boris back in the band again.

3) It's so funny you mention that 'drum machine' argument that Jason lovers used to attack Boris. You know what? After 17 years, Jason ended up being a bad programmed drum machine for The Cure. Funny uh?

5) If you think nobody cares about my messages (or the ones of other people who think Jason sucks): Have you noticed how Jason is not bashing the cymbals like he used to? I don't think is a coincidence.
Also, the Youtube videos dedicated to Jason were removed at "The Cure" request. And you say that no one cares? pfff

And I'm totally sure you are the one who needs a golden, plated or colorful stick. They are not expensive and I'm totally sure they will keep you away from here and entertained...

Read the reviews of Bestival 2011 CD in Amazon (american and UK) and see if no one cares about how Jason play the drums.

p.s. The band needs Porl or any other GOOD guitar player as well as a GOOD drummer.

Re: Boris Williams, why he doesn't back to the Cure?

Ummm....I read the American Amazon reviews and the only thing anyone says about Jason Cooper if that the drums are well played but a bit lackluster. Perhaps it's not the quality of the musicians so much as it is the mixing and recording.

Now I've read the UK Amazon reviews. Not one of them has a negative comment about Jason's playing.
Don't be so damn negative. Boris is not coming back no matter how you whine.

Re: Boris Williams, why he doesn't back to the Cure?

Jason video removed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LuXyX-KtVU

Notice The Cure themselves asked YouTube to take down this video and all of the others that pointed how bad Jason was playing. I'm sure they helped him to improve but still he needs more help.

Edit: Other video removed is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XH57z52hXNI

Funny these videos were taken down due to 'copyright' because -if I remember well- they used parts of videos filmed by the audience with cell phones and in YouTube you can find thousands of similar videos not yet taken down :)

Does anybody know if they were uploaded again? ;)

Re: Boris Williams, why he doesn't back to the Cure?

There have been other videos pulled due to copyright issues, not just the ones with Jason. Also, if you were the Cure and you had idiots such as yourself that were constantly wailing on Jason and creating a negative image, I would think that you'd pull them too. Jason is not a bad drummer, but there are some of you who won't give it a rest with all the negativity.
As I said before, if you find Robert's lyrics uninspiring and only Porl can play guitar and only Boris can drum--why, why, why do you even bother listening to them and why the hell are you here complaining to the rest of us who don't give a rat's ass?
