Cure Trivia Questions?

Name the band/album produced by Lol Tolhurst in 1983? They did not really amount to much. Shame for Lol it was in the right vain..

Yes indeed! I saw their album in HMV many moons ago and bought it just because it was produced by Lol. Having posted this Question I did a search on itunes to find they have released a few albums this decade. Perhaps they never stopped. A couple of their tracks had an interesting sound not enough to cause me to buy though.

I missed the Top tour...I recon I was too engrosed in working and other things at that time.

I feel I should task you with posing the next trivia question for fans to ponder.

Re: Cure Trivia Questions?

Babacar!
Babacar is Caroline Crawley (voice, guitars, keyboards, songwriter), Boris Williams (drums, formerly of the Cure) Roberto Soave (bass, formerly of the Cure during the Prayer tour),
Jem Tayle (guitar, Shelleyan Orphan) and Rob Steen (guitar). The album also includes performances both credtied and uncredited by Porl Thompson of the Cure.
The members of Babacar have all made their mark on music in other bands before coming to Babacar. Caroline and Jem were the two principal members of Shelleyan Orphan.
Shelleyan Orphan recorded three albums of lush orchestral pop for Rough Trade/Columbia and can be credited with creating a sound that has brought us the likes of The Sundays and the Cranberries. Caroline has also sung on the last This Mortal Coil album and the recent Josh Wink album "Herehear" (Columbia) . Roberto Soave comes to Babacar from the much heralded Associates where he beat out the bass lines on a series of successful records. Boris Williams was, of course, the drummer for the super group The Cure throughout the 80's and early 90's.

Caroline Crawley formed Babacar after the breakup of Shelleyan Orphan with Orphan's bass player Roberto Soave (he left the Associates to Join Shelleyan Orphan) and drummer Boris Williams. Shelleyan Orphan had supported the Cure on their World tour of '89 and Boris had played on Shelleyan Orphan's final album "Humroot".

Work on Babacar's debut album began at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios with Shelleyan Orphan's Jem Tayle and former Cure member Porl Thompson helping out on guitars.

Boris Williams left the Cure to concentrate on the new project and Jem soon joined as a full time member while still keeping his own group Elephantine going. Caroline also has continued with various other projects including This Mortal Coil and Josh Wink albums.

Well a one word answer would have sufficed, the word I had been looking for was not Babacar although you did include the answer I was looking for Shelleyan Orphan so I will concede you got the answer. Did Babacar support on the Disintegration tour?

I am guessing you will come up with a humdinger of a question following your answer..Bamber (Sugargirl)Gascoine
