Anyone wish to collaborate? Looking for musical help and a cure for creative procrastination.

I have a few monkeys on my back that I wish to get off but I need some help.

I have ~ 5 songs that are very Cure-like and I need help completing them. One goes back to 1983 so I have carried some of this baggage for a long time.

I would like to connect with anyone who can exchange wav files and has musical skills and also wants to doppelganger grooves from long ago.

I have the essence of the style and mood and structure but I need help as I am not a very good singer or lyricist (my friend jokes that I sound like Nico). I can put down rough tracks then we can go from there.

I developed a guitar style simply from living in an isolated part of the world (literally between Mushaboom and Ecum Secum on a map) and I happen to use the style in nearly all 5 songs.

One song is based on an ascending pattern like "3 Imaginary Boys" but would like to apply the harsh and icy crisp textures of the album "Pornography" to it. I have guitar, bass, strings and drum machine worked out with vocals but I would like to have someone else's input and corrective actions.

Another song could be from "17 Seconds" I wrote it 2 months ago. I have the guitar, bass, drum machine and vocal melodies worked out but no lyrics.

Another is very dark and is more akin to the album "Pornography". I have guitar, bass, string machine, drums and vocal melodies but no lyrics. I think I would like to try and flip the atmosphere towards "Faith" or "Disintegration" so I need a nice tom based drum pattern.

I wrote a new one 3 weeks ago that could be from the "Friday I am in Love" period. It is catchy and has a cool hook.I have structure and guitar worked out with a rough vocal idea but again drums and lyrics.. help.

The fifth one is very solid but again I need lyrics and a good singer.

Thanks!
Philip

I'm a musician, but I'm not entirely sure I can help you as I'm not a good singer. I'm OK at writing lyrics, but they tend to be a bit gloomy. I'd struggle with writing anything upbeat. I have the Pornography album and the Disintegration album and I also have Faith. I can play the keyboard and bass guitar, if that's any use to you? Probably not as you do say quite frequently in your thread that you're looking for a good lyricist and preferably someone who's a good singer.

We can give it the old college try (or in the spirit of early New Wave/Punk Bands) :) Maybe lets try the "Friday, I'm' in Love" peppy song. It has no keyboard or bass presently. Also the 17 second sounding one could use some keyboard (1 finger at a time though LOL).

If you want to have a go please pick one of the two above (17 sec of FINL-like) and email me privately. I can send a rough guide track later in the week to see if you "dig it" then we can start. Hopefully a singer/writer and drummer/drum programmer, and lead guitar riff genius (for filling out the FINL-like one) the will step up to the plate.

I have been thinking more on this. I'll just record them and put them on talenthouse.com in a few weeks (I'll be travelling for work shortly). If anyone wants a crack at 'em then go for it. I guess it is in the spirit of that website: Artistic Collaborations.

OK. What do you want me to do? Bass or keyboard?

Em.

PS. I might sing if you want me to, it's just I don't think I'm that good.
