I noticed this today..

I was watching tv and a commercial came on for Ashley Furniture (not sure if it's nationwide-US only) but the song in the background was a woman humming the tune to "Let's Go To Bed" but it was kind of techno/synth sounding. The music was very faint and the commercial was for bedding. I was surprised, and I wonder if anyone else has noticed this or seen this ad?

I don't think we get that over here :-( but it's great that they've used a Cure song! Nivea use a version of Close To Me here :-)

Re: I noticed this today..

I don“t really like it when cure-song are used in commercial. But our government-owned tv-station has begun to used cure songs as background intros to some programs....

Re: I noticed this today..

here's the thing, the song it wasn't "Let's Go To Bed". It was like they borrowed from the melody of that song and put it in a bit of their own song. Kind of like when Vanilla Ice said he didn't rip off "Under Pressure" by David Bowie and Freddie Mercury for his song "Ice Ice Baby".
