Hello All! I thought it would be nice to have a place here in the Forum for creative expression. If anyone has any poetry, prose, any writing inspired by the Cure, it would be great if you post it here. Writing on any other topic would be nice too. Does anyone write gothic poetry? Any Halloween themed writing? I'll post first.


His Gothic Majesty
For Robert

Ebony hair like raven's wings wild and free.
Skin alabaster translucent.
Smokey blue eyes mysterious enchanting.
Crimson lips singing straight into our hearts.
Quicksilver fingers play melodies divine.
The Muse of music at his command.
Sing on Sweet Muse, play on.
Delight us into infinity!

I once wrote a poem inspired by It's Over. At the time I was paranoid psychotic and actually thought that 3 people were supposed to die. I lost another life, I lost another life, I lost another life...


January 2010

I come to my writing desk
On this fine evening
To discuss with myself
The idea that someone somewhere may have thought
That three people were required to die this year
I believe if someone were to think that
They were either stupid or misled
The old ways caused deaths?
The ones that caused those deaths are difficult to kill
Those that cause the deaths are those that conspired
Not the victims that were used as bait
This year some bait became champions
And realised they were adored
Never underestimate an average girl
Or an average boy
People like people like them

??? WTF ???

It was, but I remember being rather proud of myself that I was getting through and not letting whatever was trying to kill me succeed. I thought everything that I did was being seen and heard, totally exposed. It was evil and wouldn't wish it on anyone. I wasn't diagnosed until March 2010.

I started writing poems again because I remembered I promised wiserube, (Tallis). This was the first I dropped into Myspace to honour that promise. Later when I stopped talking to myself I started to hear voices. I wrote poems to challenge my head and to try and heal myself the way I did when I was young. I did get rid of the voices.

I am very happy now to have nothing to write!

Thanks to everyone for the nice responses to my poem. To leahcl,thanks for posting your poem and sharing the difficult personal ordeal you went through. You can be an inspiration to others going through hard times in their lives! I'm very happy that you got through that dark time in your life and things are better for you now. I agree with cats_n_cheese that writing things down in poetry, journals etc, are a great way to exorcize demons. I would encourage you to continue your writing. Writing can also be a pleasant experience to share good thoughts and feelings about your life.


I have had some difficult times in my life that has inspired some of my poems. Robert Smith himself has said that the albums Faith and Pornography were written during dark and difficult times in his life. Robert said the writing of the albums was a way for him to sort out and release his feelings and resulted in great creativity in the writing of the albums. I have a poem that I have written that I'll put in my next post that expresses my feelings of hope and positive things in life.

wow, those are both great poems. Crimsonrose, that was lovely thanks for sharing! I'm too shy to share my stuff, so I keep it written in private. I'm more of a visual artist, drawing, painting and decorating are my outlets. Poetry is something I've never had the knack for and I greatly admire those who do have that talent. Leah..I'm so glad you have gotten to a brighter and happier place in your life. Writing is therapeutic, once you get your feelings out on paper, you can begin to process those feelings and work on healing from within. Good music helps too! :)

This poem is dedicated to Leahcl and anyone who desires healing in their lives. This poem is also dedicated to the people who suffered through Hurricane Sandy and members of this forum from New York, New Jersey and any areas affected by the hurricane.


Brand New Day


I'm breaking out of bondage shout for a new day.
I'm singing a new song, new world on the way. You
know the morning brings a new light. It's time to
wake up from the cold dark night. Feel the breeze
of a new dawn and believe it won't be long.


I'm stepping on the pathway to see the joy unfold,
awake my eyes with love unto the truth I hold. New
day comimg you will see all the things you hold dear
are waiting for you here, just reach out with your
heart and find them near. Spread your wings and fly
high in the sky, reach for tomorrow soon it will come.


Run in the sunlight until the day is done, it's a
new day. Sometimes it's hard to shine, we've all got
bad times on our minds. But look to tomorrow, go on
your way, reach for the sky, it's a brand new day.


The road is long but oh so near, travel along the
road and have no fear. You'll see the shining light
to guide your way, to lead you from darkness into a
brand new day.

A poem for Halloween


Infinite Desire



Draped in a cloak of ebony and crimson
partaking of the wondrous mysteries of
the night. Swept away on a shimmering star
crystal luminous bright.

Living midst the ageless beauty of passion,
a kiss inflamed with a whisper of delight,
taking pleasure in the wonders of the night.

Visualize dreams of ages of haunting destiny,
float upon waves of infinite desire. Lurking
beneath the face of calm reserve lies a
smoldering fire. Passion knows no bounds if
allowed to linger in the mind of the subversive
soul.

I do envy anyone who can write. I get stuck after the start of anything I try! Maybe I should publish a book of beginnings lol!

and I feel like someone staying
I turn to you, my one true love
you drag me up from down below

you fill up the empty space
that surrounds my empty soul

Hi...

Long time, no post. I've been intensely busy with projects and now I'm in Texas for a few months visiting my family. I do lurk, from time to time, to read what everyone is up to. I hope everyone is doing good.

Well, I have a whole book of poems that I published a few months ago that I wrote over a 15+ year period with regards to my long, intense fascination with Robert, who has been my long time Muse in everything even the least little bit artsy. Although there are more poems than songs, this collection of poems are what inspired (in one way or another) all the songs on my CD that I released last year, so I decided to put them all together in a paperback & ebook book for publication if anyone is every curious.

I love reading everyone's poetry. Back when I first started looking for a forum online that had Cure fans I came across lots of poems that were Cure inspired. I found the poems before I found a forum. I totally understand the inspiration.

Time For Peace



See the time, how it comes and goes, see the world how it turns. I know that someday we'll see the way it's got to be, believe me it's time for peace!


All the hatred, death and woe, where did sanity go?! Fighting, endless cities on fire, empty hearts kill this life's desire.It's time for peace, stop the madness, let love release us from the evil warrior's cry!


Moving on to a better day, when the children laugh and play. Erase all the tears, let's end it here. It's time to defend our rights for peace!


Endless souls cry, we watch in sadness as people die. Weep in pain for the innocent ones,cut down in anger, from the hand on the gun.
