I Know Valentines Day is coming but...

This is a fabulous break up song, weights and measures, Dry The River,...you were the coldest star in the sky... RS should have written this, perhaps they can be a support act when The Cure tour later this year..

my own favourite is Inbetween Days,always makes me think of a certain boyfriend who left me, but I still love this song!! Everybody should have a great sound track to get over heart break, The Cure feature heavily in mine, along with lots of happy times to, so its fine!!

No, he didn´t sing it :-)

he liked that song because that was exactly how he felt about me. we continued to be friends after the breakup but our friendship ended VERY badly, and I ended up really hating him. so now that I hear it, I hear him saying that he loves me, I am Just hate him (well, I dont hate him anymore, but it took 4 years and a psychologist to get that fare)

When I was young I didn't stay with anyone long enough to have a special song like that. There is a song that reminds me of a guy I sort of had a night club thing with for a while. That song was Racey's Lay Your Love On Me. Strangely I found him again on Facebook and we're friends again. The song always make me smile :) No break up songs though.

Eh, not really an official break up song, but "Apart" always reminds me of my ex. The one I thought I'd marry. Jealousy and mistrust ruined it all. We grew apart, practically strangers near the end. As Robert says "We used to be so close together.." So true. Oh well, I couldn't listen to that song for the longest time, it was like a knife in my heart. But time has it's way of healing, and now I can listen to that song for what it is, a beautiful song written by a beautiful man.

I think I would use Cure songs to help me RECOVER after a breakup.

Disintegration and End are the songs I’d listen to if I initiated the breakup. M would probably follow.

If I were the one who got dumped, I would have to listen to the entire Faith album a couple of times and follow with A Thousand Hours. Howwwl!

I have never been able to listen to apart even though it doesn´t remind me of a specific ex-boyfriend. It is just so heartbreaking and I begin to feel the kind of sickness you feel when you are jealous and really hurt.

I have a hard time listening to that song. It is beautiful, but in a very chilling way… and I literally feel cold when I listen to it.

Thank you and I'm sorry for your hurt as well:) It was so long ago, but you know how songs can bring you right back into that moment. You plan a future with someone and envision how it all will be but nothing turns out like you had planned. I love that album, but usually skip that song, although I try to not let those old feelings and associations get to me. I've moved on and he has too. I now have someone who is entirely what I wanted and treats me like a queen. We've been together 10 years now and he loves The Cure too, so I'm very lucky :)
