Hm this board is looking a bit bare....

So I'll start it off with a very unoriginal thread... What is your favourite Live Cure performance and why?

Mine is Show... It was the first live Cure performance that I heard/saw and it never fails to amaze me, even when I watch it for the 25748395874th time (slight exaggeration perhaps). I wish I had been there! Unfortunately I was only 5 years old at the time and residing in a completely different country...

I have to say the one and only Cure show I have been to...August 8, 07, Brisbane, Australia. Probably not the best venue sound wise, and I think there were a few technical hiccups, but being my first show, of course I was just in pure utter awe.

Which venue did they play at? The Entertainment Centre at Boondall?

Yes...every concert I have been to there has had sound problems, and I read that because it was built to primarily be a basketball stadium, the accoustics have never been good.

I've only been there once, I saw MCR there in 2007. I didn't think it was great either... I saw them the year before at the Tivolli and that was much better... The smaller venues are alot more personal IMO too.

SHOW is a great video ... it was recorded on the Wish tour. I wan't in Detroit, but I did go to see them in NY on that tour ... as usual, they were brilliant.

The show where Robert climbed up to the balcony was in June 2008 ... at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. I was in the balcony ... it was crazy ... the Cure are the best, no question ...

Re: Hm this board is looking a bit bare....

I've been to three concerts. The first was The Prayer Tour in 1989. That was actually my first concert ever! The second was in 1992 when I was pregnant with my daughter. We had awesome seats and were up close. Robert is so gorgeous.

However, I think my very favorite show was June 2008--4 Tour. I took my daughter (the one I was pregnant with) to her first ever concert! She loved it and I loved seeing her love it. And, I think, the band just gets better with age. Robert is still simply gorgeous and he sounds better than ever. Simon, Porl, Jason--all were great. 65 Days of Static opened and were unbelievable. So I don't know if it's because I'm older and appreciate them more (and I wasn't inebriated) that I liked them more on this last tour....or if they're just better.

Then again, if they came to my house and played in the rain and sounded like the worst thing you ever heard on earth, I'd probably still think it was heaven! I'm a bit biased!

aw! I'd love to take my son to see The Cure one day (he's only 2 at the moment though...) then again I'd like to see them for myself. I think any show that I got to be there for would definitely be my favourite too. One day!

One thing I remember and loved about the show in Brisbane was that there were heaps of kids there. And they were right up the front too...in fact we were 3 rows back and we were surrounded by people our age and older with their 8, 9, 10 year olds, and they all loved it. I distinctly remember a little boy with his dad, who beside me...the little boy couldn't see much, but his dad lifted him up a few times, and when he did, the look of awe on his face was just priceless. I would love to take my son to the next show in Australia (really hoping there is a next one!!!).

I love cure performance in Japan, in 1984. Robert's hair looks amazing and he does some sweet things while performing..Well, but I wasn't even born at that time, so now I can see that performance only on youtube..

Yeah that one is awesome, in the backstage stuff where he is messing with the chopsticks, hilarious. and the ribbon in his hair. Also has the best performance of the top.
