Electric Picnic 2012

My piggy bank won't allow me to buy a weekend ticket for this year's Electric Picnic. (My heart is aching from the breaking). The only day tickets made available are for the final day. I'm not interested in the final day (no offence meant to any other musicians).

Could I maybe tempt Mr Smith and/or group and/or the whole shebangle of ye to take a little 2 hour detour up the road and call in for a cuppa?

Ah, go on!

My friend is going to Reading next week. I've demanded that he take a thousand photos and that he listens to every word you sing. I know you often put modified lyrics into the classics.

Please remind him early on to pay attention. I think he always does, but this time it's for me.

Take care of him. He means a lot to me :)

C'mon lads!!

Even my Dad wants to buy ye a round after that gig.
Admittedly he threw in the sponge at Lullaby due to enjoying one too many pints earlier on.

It's a nice pub, my local. Best Guinness in Ireland.
None of your Euro Disco Fizz rubbish.

It seems you saved the best concert of the summer for Ireland.
A chunk of it was played live on radio.

I went to see The Cure play at the Electric Picnic last Saturday night. WHAT A GIG!!!! They played for 3 hours & 15 mins & they were amazing!!!

Their set list was brilliant! And they sounded fantastic!!! They are still at the very top of their game! The whole band looks great as-well!! Robert was smiling & laughing through-out the whole gig, he really seemed to be enjoying himself! He really looked amazing!!! He is such a top bloke!

There was a great atmosphere in the crowd, everyone was singing & dancing & really enjoying them selves! The Cure put so much effort into the gig & it really showed! What other band would play for 3 hours & 15mins? & to sound so perfect! There wasn't a note out of place! The whole concert was such a buzz!!!

I saw the Cure play around 1989 & again in around 2004. Both gigs were brilliant! But the gig last Saturday at the Electric Picnic was the best Cure gig that i was at! There was so much energy coming off the band, it was truly magical to be a part of it!!! They are an amazing band & they have still got it! They are playing as well as ever if not better!!! Best gig EVER!!!! I'll never forget the amazing atmosphere at that gig thanks to The Cure!!! :) :) :)

PS... I got some great photos of the gig, but i can't seem to find a way to post them with my post? Does this forum let us post photos?

I'd really like to see them.

Was the 2004 gig you were at "Oxegen"? I was there too.

I travelled home to Ireland from London to see them play at Electric Picnic as the atmosphere and crowd are usually great at EP. It exceeded all my expectations. I have been listening to The Cure since I was fourteen (twenty years...eeek!!)and I think they sounded better than ever. They really gave it their all and I admire them so much for playing to the crowd and giving them what they want at the end of what I am sure has been a gruelling summer of tours. They still sound and look amazing. This summer was made for me in that 3 hours and 15 minutes. If I could remain forever one moment in time it would be standing in that field listening to those opening moments of Plainsong. Thank you.....
