Hmm... I think I should have made the title "Cure songs that have the ability to make you cry." Because there isn't a song by The Cure that makes me cry EVERY time I listen to it.

It takes a lot for me to cry, but I was actually listening to Pictures Of You a few days ago and I was getting a little teary eyed. You get teary eyed knowing where the inspiration for the song came from, Robert Smith coming home after his house caught fire and the next day he was rummaging through the remains to find his wallet with his wife, Mary's pictures in it. You can see one of the pictures he found of Mary on the Single cover.

I think you're right, it was the studio, not his house! I thought it was during the recording of Disintegration, but I'm not sure...

I think you're right, it was the studio, not his house! I thought it was during the recording of Disintegration, but I'm not sure...

Disintegration. There's just so much despair in Robert's voice.

Underneath The Stars. The first time I heard it, I started crying uncontrollably. I don't know why, but it's a beautiful song.

Crying, in my case, is a sign of release, in a state of deep depression and despair, I'm unable to let fall tears. So, I connect these songs with actually a relieving experience.

The entire Bloodflowers album, i went through some tough times in the summer and i was saving it to get for myself this past valentines day. But i cheated and got it early,thank god i did too that would have been the MOST pitiful day of my life if i hadnt.

I have never really cried over a Cure song, however I felt like me head was going to explode the first time I heard Plain Song. The drop on that song is UN-touchable

"There Is No If" because it's just so beautiful!

"Cut" because I was depressed about my relationship for a while for the same reasons in the song. Anyone who's ever been in a long-term relationship knows what I mean!

I've always looked up to Robert and Mary (they've been together since they were very young, just like my boyfriend and me), so it kinda hits home. Which is a shame, because it's probably in my top favorites.
