Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me

Hi! I'm new here and I haven't seen anyone post about this amazing record, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Is there anyone here who reveres this record as much as me?
The Kiss, Torture, If Only Tonight, and How Beautiful You Are happen to be my favorite songs in the world.

Love from the USA!

Re: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me

Yes, nice album) I'm been surprised that it so long and big. Maybe, Robert has been very lucky))
But come end of this somehow don't distinguish one song from other, so many different music, heard) I think, there is some instrumentals? In region of "Icing sugar"...

Re: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me

Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me and Faith are my favourite albums... But I think KMKMKM stands out for me simply because it was the first album I bought and what made me fall in love with The Cure (and it also happened to be released the year I was born!). For some reason I skipped straight to track 16 (A Thousand Hours) when I first listened to it, which was a little weird... 16 is my favourite number, but I'm still not sure why I didn't start from the beginning. Once I heard A Thousand Hours I was hooked. I then went back to the beginning and was blown away by The Kiss... and well, I'm sure you know how the rest goes :)

Re: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me

It was my first Cure record to. Of course over time I had to go and collect them all. I love Faith too. KMKMKM still has a very special place though, being the first one I owned. Everything on the record was perfect, keyboard, drums, guitar, bass and especially vocals. Just the perfect record in my thought.

Like you said, it's also so long! I love that too! I've always loved long records though I feel like I'm getting more music for my money. :)

Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me is an astonishing record. For one thing it really cemented The Cure as a band that can out last most others, be edgy, yet catchy and fun and dark and seductive, sell albums and get songs on the charts. I am sure no one thought they could achieve such success with a double album. KMKMKM is just an amazing album. I hope one day they perform it live in it's entirety.. preferably in Paris :)

Not to mention the band just looks gorgeous... Robert is just so handsome during this era...

Re: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me

Great LP. One thing I love about this LP is hearing the joy in Robert's voice when he discribes how happy he was recording the Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me LP. It was recoded in the south of France and Robert loved it there. He was "deliriously happy" as he put it. And it shows because it is a very upbeat and happy LP.

Re: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me

I love Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, I actually consider it to be my favourite of The Cure's albums.

Not that I think it contains better material as such, but I think it's a nice 'cross section' of The Cure. They've bounced around between punk rock, goth rock, very dark goth stuff, chart pop music, and everywhere inbetween, but I think that, aside from compilation records, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, is the album which seems to represent them as a whole because it features at least one record in every style they've done.

I mean, opening with "The Kiss", amazing, really setting the mood, then transitioning into "Catch", which couldn't be a more different track. It's got very emotional rock tracks like "All I Want", great synth work like in "Torture", some brilliant, bright pop numbers like "Why Can't I Be You" and "Hot Hot Hot!!!", and brilliant rock music inbetween.

Perhaps not the best material of everything they've done, but I'd say the best value for money out of any Cure album, and this is the first one I always recommend to newcomers!

Re: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me

I think it's cool how modern/indie the guitar at the beginning of "All I Want" sounds. Sounds like Sonic Youth or Drive Like Jehu or something.

Re: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me

That's it! It has a song for being happy to, a song for being mad to, a song for feeling love, a song for feeling alone, it has everything all in one record.

The synth line on all I want is so fascinating.

I would probably fly to Spain if they played this live there like he said on one DVD (trilogy I guess).

Re: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me

It was the early nineties when I got to know the Cure and I bought all their albums in like 12 months.

Kiss x 3 is a great album , a classic.

I think Fight is a terrific song to play insanely loud. Shiver and shake is in the vein of the Top's "Give me it" in my opinion. Love the chaos and the anger in those songs.

I love this album, definitely one of my faves. I really like All I Want and The Kiss. My original CD is all messed up so I had to go out and get a new one recently fresh and new!
