Would the singles have made early albums better?

It's not unknown that The Cure's early singles didn't appear on any albums (although most of them seem to fit in the style of the album which was in the works at the time), do you think that perhaps the albums would have sounded better, or even sold better, with these singles?

Boys Don't Cry was the name of the US version of Three Imaginary Boys, which had all three of their singles at the time shoehorned in in place of three tracks which I'd have considered to be filler anyway... I have to wonder how it affects it, if it breaks it up or makes it more fun.

Seventeen Seconds did contain A Forest, but if you ask me, it's a crime that Faith didn't feature Charlotte Sometimes!

I can see why Let's Go To Bed was kept well away from Pornography (imagine it!!), but "The Walk" and "The Lovecats" would have probably fit comfortably on The Top (and, forgive me for saying, but it'd have probably helped balance out the bizarreness of that record a little).

Re: Would the singles have made early albums better?

Three singles - "Killing an Arab", "Boys don't cry" and "Jumping someone else's train" - really in style "Three imaginary boys". But "Charlotte sometimes" better fit for "Pornography" than "Faith". Sound is many darkwave. I don't understand why this song didn't released on "Pornography". Also, on this album very good looking "Splintered in her head". But he is conceptual, maybe there's only tracks that complect each other.

"Let's go to bed" was borned after "Pornography", is not it?:) On previous albums came to "Lament", and on "The top" i'd put "The lovecats" and "The upstairs room". "The dream" better on "The head on the door" (oh, this English accent - everywhere "The":) How you reading this?)))

I do not like that singles is various complection. Why can't make it only one edition? Now vinil is outdated, and singles releases is same. But there is confusion with old singles: "Why can't i be you?", "Hot Hot Hot!!!", "Pictures of you", etc. Tracks on these is various, but where is STANDART with full songs, remixes and other???
