The Cure's "Fascination Street" is Based on Kool & the Gang's "Fresh"

What do you think? Someone has made a video purporting to show that the Cure's "Fascination Street" is based on Kool & the Gang's "Fresh." Check out this video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vge8lRO5jmo. I think it could be true--the drums and bass seem to match up, the vocal harmonies in both songs seem very similar, and the Cure guitars follow the Kool & the Gang vocals very closely throughout the song. What do you think?

I can hear it in the chords actually, yeah.

Whether based on it or not, two bloody brilliant songs!!!

...And that mashup was pretty epic... lol
