I've read one book about the cure's lyrics ( and I'm waiting 4 a second one...:-))but I didn't found anything about the choice of the video and Catholic implications.. the song "the blood" is about a portuguese special wine (red wine)
called oporto wine
there's a red wine called"lagrima de cristo" and he translated as the blood of christ
in one of their concerts in portugal he tasted the wine, he liked it so much that he wrote a song about it
