Influence of "The cure" on Russian rockListing in first time "Seventeen seconds" and "Pornography" i understood how did Russian rock grow legs.
Been this band "Kino" (Victor Tsoy), a lot of songs similar of "A forest", "Play for today" (very simlar), "A strange day', etc. Also band names "Alisa" borrowed theme from "Kyoto song", "Agata Kristi" is not distinguish from "One hundred years", "Cold", "Shake dog shake" and other. And B-2 band (Shura B-2, known on Australy, maybe known on Europe. Big fan of "The cure":)) - very much of themes, riffes, arrangements... Topic songs is very similar, like "Faith" (many riffes out there, especially "Faith" song) If here can giving proofs on songs i do, music is in same key. I think, Russian users on here (if here is be) will agree with this.
But "The cure" there nothing were, i'm not sure that their albums sale on Russia, in USSR they distributed unlegal, on vinil and magnet-albums. However this didn't prevent them become popular here. And many classic and gothic groups still take example from "The cure" |
