Where's the Dark Album?

When is the follow-up to "4:13 Dream" coming out? And when it does, will it be unreleased tracks from the same session or newly-recorded versions? Thanks.

When it is released, no one knows but I hope it won't be too long!!
My understanding is that it will contain songs recorded at the same time as 4:13, as RS wanted to release a double album, one light (4:13) and one dark. But we all know that never happened. I prefer the darker songs of the Cure, so was really really wanting the dark album! :)

Hmmm... damn good question x]

I hope to god sooner rather than later!! And perhaps with a world tour to go with it... I'm quite excited for new Cure music though, so I'm willing to wait (for a while ;) )

Have they been saving Please Come Home for this one? That's one of the most beautiful songs they've ever done!

I have no idea...the last I heard was in the interviews in Trilogy, where Robert said the next album would go darker and continue on in the progression of Pornography, Disintegration and Bloodflowers. I'm assuming the culmination of that wasn't 'the Cure' (the album). I don't have anything against that album, it's a real gem and all, but I don't think it really holds true to the Trilogy concept.
I'm really looking forward to the 'dark album' because, as much as I love the Cure's weird and wonderful worlds of light and introspection, I think they're at they're best when they're making what has become known as 'dark' music.

Dunno just hearing about this... but i prefer there dark and kiss kiss kiss stuff alot.. so ill like this to.. its got to be really dark to outmatch pornography :)

It was nothing close to a promise - it was more lika a distant vision, an intention maybe.
However I've got high hopes and I believe that he will continue releasing music - I can't believe he has burned out yet..

The most frustrating thing is, is that it's just sitting on a shelf pretty much.. The remaining 18 tracks demoed for 4:13 are collecting dust somewhere while he/the group is doing other bits and pieces..
Hopefully one of those bits and pieces are writing some new tracks to go with the "old" ones..

Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm ITCHING for some official news right about now!

Yes official news would be good , a report about the progress. Always nice to hear Robert being enthusiastic about a new album.
