Re: forest: YES DEFINITELY! Robert paints very vivid imagery with his lyrics and the music gives it a really dark and mysterious mood.
Here's what I envision when I listen to it. It begins slowly, with a feeling of trepidation... as though I'm in the dark and struggling to see. The guitar notes are like careful, tentative steps I take. Then the drums kick in, like I'm frightened and my heart's thumping. When the bassline begins, I really start to see the forest around me and I begin to run. As it progresses, I feel as though shadows from the dark forest are coming in closer and I'm just getting more and more lost in this endless forest of shadows. About three minutes in, the trippy synth and ascending guitar notes make me feel dizzy, like I'm spinning around looking for a way out of the dark forest. I run around a bit more, get even dizzier and then collapse in some cold, dewy moss in the dark forest.
It's a wonderful song in so many ways. :)
