Well I want to state that I'm 14 and I lived in Germany from 3-6 years old. When I was about 4 I found an old cassette of my moms and heard The Kiss.. From Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me I didn't hear Disintegration till I was like 12 and there other stuff now

I first listened to the Cure at my mate's place. I think I was 17 or so. I found it weird music , I thought Robert sounded like a girl. Mind you I was listening to Simple minds , Phil Collins and the Bangles at that time.

I got into them though and started wearing nothing else but black clothes for many years with the white sneakers and all. Bye Phil ;-)

My first album ? I bought two or three in one go , I think Faith , 17 seconds and Disintegration were the first. Two weeks later I bought the rest.

My first song was actually "Killing an Arab"!!!!
hmmm . . . The album I started on was "Staring at the Sea", but it's confusing . . . lol

First song - Lovecats
My first album was Standing On A Beach too (Staring At The Sea is the video of those singles)..
But if we're talking proper albums it was WMS.. I became a fan in '95 so I kind of started recent and worked my way back.. Very interesting trip!

The first Cure song I ever heard was "Inbetween Days" on one of my moms mix tapes. My first album that I bought, I think was Disintigration:)

My brother was listening to them - just a couple of their more famous songs, but I became incredibly attached to them immediately. The first songs were Maybe Someday, Why can't I Be You?, Pictures Of You, Just Like Heaven and Friday I'm In Love - in that order. Next came The Lovecats, then Disintegration.
I have never looked back.

the first cure song i ever heard was boys dont cry when i was about in the first grade, because my older brother who is 19 now listened to them and still does. untill i was ten i just listened to his cure albums but then he gave me his wish album because he had two! :)

it was either pictures of you or just like heaven when i was around 12 years old. i fell in love. went and got disintegration pretty quickly after that.

okay here I go showing my age. I bought Head on the Door. It was not a "New release" at the time but I Still have that cassette tape and unlike some CDs IT Still plays. Kiss me Kiss me Kiss me came out shortly after that and I have been eating up that wonderful stuff ever since.

I heard songs on the radio before (Just Like Heaven, Close To Me, Lovesong, etc.) and I always forgot to go home and look up the band or song x] But the first songs I really listened to were A Forest and Just Like Heaven. Easily two of my favorite Cure pop (?) songs :P

My first album was Kiss me, Kiss me, Kiss me,when i was 14 years old (maybe not the best election for a beginner)

The first Cure song I ever heard is Lovesong - probably by accident through mainstream media. The first Cure song I intentionally listened to - aware and conscious - is Bloodflowers. And I don't regret anything ;)

My first song was Close to me when I was about 4 years old. My mum and me sitting in front of the tv set and she then mumbles something about Robert's hair, I still remember that. My first album was the kiss me album which I immediately fell in love with

The first song I ever heard was Just Like Heaven, then I heard In Between Days and couldnt tell the difference (silly me!).

First album was Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, still one of my favourite albums. :)

Strange Attraction. I found a video of my dad dancing to it with me when i was a year old. I think he had just bought the album. That was 1996

I first heard The Cure in 1980 on an obscure radio program. From then until now they have been my favorite band. I couldn't find any albums in the U.S. until Head on the Door in 1985.

First Cure song is the first cure video I saw - Let's go to bed and/or The Walk. The British DJ Richard Blade (who was formerly in San Luis at Z93 and had moved down to KROQ in LA) had a short-lived MTV knockoff show called "MV3" and he really loved The Cure. Back then I didn't quite know what to make of them, since it was just Robert and Lol. The crazy makeup and nutty videos didn't help matters.

A few years later when I heard/saw In Between Days I bought my first Cure album "Head on the Door" on cassette and I just now realized I would rank it as my favorite album, there I finally admitted it, and I played it the most. I don't own Wild Mood Swings and don't want to, and still haven't bought Bloodflowers, bad cure fan bad, LOL :)

My first Cure song was Burn as I heard it watching the crow at my cousins house on tape. The first album I bought was Disintergration. everytime it snowed in Newyork I will play it and downloaded album is Bloodflowers. I have bought every album with b sides to the album. It costed a lot of money but it was and is worth it.

I found a copy of Wish in my basement that my mom had bought when Friday was really popular. I listened to it and fell in love <3.

My older cousin played "Close to me" when I visited him in South America in the 80's. I stole my brother's copy of "Wish" in my teens and had a cover band and a collection of their bootlegs by the late 90s. RAWK!

hey, new here...

I guess it must've been Friday I'm in Love at a very early age, cause it was familiar when I got into The Cure later...

Which happened when I was watching VH1 one night long ago and there was this bunch of weird looking guys standing in the snow... smth about the guitar riff just caught my ear as being very very special and I waited for like forever to find out what song and artist it is. The next day i bought Disintegration, and this is where my story ends.......

A bunch of years back, my mother was inclined to show me this music video from one of her long-time favourite bands. After she had done some youtubing, I found myself beholding one of the most obscure, fascinating, and fantastic pieces of music video I'd ever laid eyes upon. Indeed, this was "Close to Me".

After that, I kept on bumping into The Cure melodies through various different means and media. I learned to recognize and admire them through a mere handful of songs well before I ever got into the whole record business, but nowadays do feel that I can regard myself a rather established fan. :-)

The first song I ever heard from The Cure was "Boys don't cry" and then I discovered the cassette of "Standing on the Beach". I was about 7. My sister was in her teenager years and she's the one who made me discover this fantastic band.
I'm in love with them ever since that day.
I followed them and all their next albums through my sister.
The first album I actually bought myself was "Disintegration" when I was about 14 and started to have a different approach to the songs.
I had the chance to see them live during a summer festival in Brittany, France in 2003.
Two of my favorite song are Lullaby and a Forest.
I can't describe how I feel when I listen to them...

Lovecats for me too... I remember, I was 10 or 11ish & my older sister had staring at the sea on tape and when we first listened to it I "knew" Lovecats - so must of heard it on the radio when it was released I guess... my first favourite songs were Charlotte Sometimes and Caterpillar Girl

The first album I bought (with my hard earned pocket money) was Wish on cassette.

I listened "Lullaby" when I was like 8, at that time my dad used to hear 80's rock (from heavy metal to new age). Then at 15 I had my copy tape of "Show". Later I bought officially my first album "Concert". CUREous fact: When this album "Concert" was released, I was born... am I a fan???? hehehe

The first song I ever heard... I'm not sure but I think it was boys don't cry in 1980 or 1981. The first album, I bought, was "Kiss me Kiss me Kiss me" in 1987. Before that I recorded most of the songs while they were played in the radio.

Today, I have all albums and I try to get each song, Cure made in a good live-version. That's really hard because most of the bootlegs have a terrible quality and unfortunately The Cure are not often shown on German television. Thus, it is difficult to get enough - good live perfomances (I mean the sound quality). But I am a fan for about 30 years and sometimes I will have all songs as studio and live version.

The first time that I heared The Cure, I wasn't born yet. I can't remember that I heared The Cure by then, but my mom listened very often when she was pregnant of me. And an unborn child can hear music.

When I was a little girl, my mom listened also very often. And I liked it. The first title of one of the songs that I can remember is Primary.

I'd never stop listening to the cure. It was and it's still my favourite band ever.

When my little one is born, I'll give her/him the same upbringing that my mother did. The cure has to live on!

The First Cure song I ever heard was Boys Don't Cry, Close To Me, Just Like Heaven or The Lovecats although Im not sure which one I heard first.My brother and I used to sing Just Like Heaven on Singstar before I knew of The Cure. Boys Don't Cry, Close To Me and The Lovecats always used to play on the radio when I was young. The first album I borrowed was The Cure's Greatest Hits, this year from my high school radio station as I knew some of the songs, since then I have fallen in love with The Cure again (I first did back in 2008 and used to listen to Charlotte Sometimes all the time). The Cure are my favourite band at the moment so for my birthday this year I got given the deluxe edition of Disintegration and I absolutely love it. Two days ago I found an old casette at home which had the word Cure on one side, I played it and realised it was Three Imaginary Boys :) It was actually my mum's.

1980. The day natalie wood died. I bought faith and that is because I like the words to Primary which still touch my heart. The rest of the album was genius . Within a week I had boys dont cry and seventeen seconds.

First Cure song I heard was "In between days" many years ago on MTV. It had such a great melody and I figured The Cure was some sort of mix between The Smiths and New Order. Next Cure song I heard was "Lullaby"... kind of dispelled that notion. First record I bought was "Staring at the sea", but an ex-girlfriend nicked that (I guess mainly because she loved "Charlotte sometimes").

I was catched when I was 14 or 15: Lullaby was played on the radio. I was excited, my friends' brother had Disintegration and Kiss me on tape and I copied them.
My first Cure record was Boys don't cry, my first CD (ever!) was Three imaginary boys.. and I didn't even have a CD-player when I bought it. Together with my first CD, I bought The Peel sessions on record..one time as a picture disc, one time with coloured vinyl. And I'm always searching for more...

First Cure song: A forest. I heard it on the radio when I was about 13 and couldn't get it out of my thoughts for days.

And the first album I bought was Pornography. Wasn't hard to fall in love with The Cure by that time.

Since then, everytime I read my old comics collection of The Sandman, I tend to imagine Gallup's face instead of Morpheus... why could it be?? :D (wonder if this happened to anyone else)

First Song i've ever heard by the cure was lullaby. I visited my cousin and saw the longplayer and i thought, wow this is my music.

first album was the disintegration. it was the begin of a big love.. since then, the cure was my favourite band. and i liked robert smith because he is so nice and sympathetic when he talks in interviews or something..i would like to go out with him and drinking a beer..;))))

Enthralled by this musical discovery I went to Ebay to find some Cure albums (for I had NO clue about them at all). Well, that day I bought Three Imaginary Boys, Pornography, The Head On The Door and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me. BEST.BUY.EVER.

The first album I listened to was Happily Ever After which was a homemade cassette and lucky for me I got to keep it!

My first song? No idea, because my mom told me she was singing Cure's songs as lullaby to me since I was born. But my earliest memories let me say that was completely lovely she humming Lullaby close to my ears.

She is not a patiente mom. A great!, but not patiente, though. lol

I mean, it sounds like she used to hum Lullaby the way I gotten scared and sleep fast. And it's not cruel, it's fun! Also not the true.

The real reason is that she always tried to show me that obsucure and scary things are adorable. I caught those feelings, and until nowadays, Lullaby is my favourite!

Friday is on the radio a lot so I'm sure thats the first I "heard" but the first Cure dose I got that wasnt spoon fed to me via radio was the Accoustic version of Just Like Heaven and The Walk.
And it was instant,undying love and affection from then on out.
And the first album I bought was Greatest Hits (give them a taste) and then KM,KM,KM (deluxe)

I grew up in France,i was about 10 years old, back then i couldn't speak nore understand english, but I loved that sound that I went on recognising until I could call it something! <3

in 83 at 12 I went to the UK for 3 weeks, totally obsessed with finding all kinds of stuff and music from The Cure...

– I – was never cured! Thank God for that ;)

For me the first song that really caught my attention was Pictures of You back in the day, and I went out and bought Disintegration and the rest is history.
