Well I want to state that I'm 14 and I lived in Germany from 3-6 years old. When I was about 4 I found an old cassette of my moms and heard The Kiss.. From Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me I didn't hear Disintegration till I was like 12 and there other stuff now

The Top. I was on holiday, visting my nana in the UK and the album caught my eye because the cover was amazing, so I bought it! ha ha was the first track I heard and I also play the viola so I loved it! Made me think the violin and viola were possible to use in a pop-ish way. When I heard Pornograhy in 1985 that really made me relate to it n a personal way. Following meeting RS and he asked me what was my fav album of the cure - I said w/o hesitation Porography and he said it was his fav too. My all time fav album not the cure would be Bowie obviously!! After meeting RS and staying with him all night I realised that the night would change my life and I got in a band myself...2 indie singles later and then we signd to EMI and Robyn Godfrey-Cass signed us. However, we just weren't that professional or organised! 1,000 years and Same Deep Water are my fav Cure tracks. x much love

the first song i ever heard was the lullaby and i was 8 years old..11 years later i bought the cure greatest hits and we are tougether ever since..and all there albums as well.

I am only 14 too, and the first song I heard by The Cure was Just Like Heaven from Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, once I heard it, it sounded familiar so I looked it up online, and found out about The Cure. They became my favorite band with a few days :) haha and then I wondered if I had ever really heard music before I heard them :)

I took my mom's forgotten copy of Wish after I noticed that one of the songs is called Wendy Time... my name's Wendy. And the love affair began!

I discovered the Cure as an angry and hateful lyricist doing an experiment where I would purposefully listen to music I thought I was gonna hate, and be pleasantly surprised if I ended up liking it... I didn't think I would like the Cure, but then something I didn't know became one of my favorite bands of all time! It didn't happen immediately, though...

First song: Underneath the Stars (I thought... Impressive! It really calmed down the angry guy that was Dave)

Second song: The Only One (my hardened heart changed the channel... He said "love" about 23 times, and I thought it was unrealistic)

But later that day I was like... Wait... Maybe I should figure out what these guys are all about... So I decided to spend some money...

First Album: Bloodflowers (Best album ever?)

Eventually I began to believe in miracles

Boy's Don't Cry was the first song. Most of friends had broad taste in music. The first album I bought, The Cure, my friend played alot the their cds. Been buying alot of older catalog. The box set was rare find.

The first video I saw from the cure was "Love cats". It was on a Canadian Video show back in the 80's I was 16. I thought these guys were so cool because they were so unconventional. I then delved into their music and have been a fan ever since. I still have never seen them live. I'll have to keep an eye open for their next trip to Vancouver. Hopefully will come back. By the way, love the "platinum Blonde" (Canadian 80's band) cover featuring Robert Smith.

I really loved the live version of World War. Not really the album version i remember hearing on Three Imaginary Boys.
The live stuff was sometimes out of this world.

I'd really like to hear the tune i mentioned above again. Vinyl got lost along the way i can't listen to those TDK tapes they just break.

The very first Cure song I ever heard is Lovesong, but the very first Cure song I ever love is Disintegration. And the first Cure album I ever, *coughsdownloadcoughsforcoughsfreecoughs* is Disintegration but no worries, I just spent about RM100 on eBay for Disintegration and Greatest Hits, hopefully by next week I will receive the albums. Can't wait! :D

first one, mmm let me think of that one. just like heaven, and some early songs from period. First album, The cure -self titled, my friend, was a huge cure, fan so i just listened to his tapes.

The first Cure song I ever heard was "The Lovecats" when I was a baby (well, I don't remember that but my mother saw me a video when I was 4 weeks old and I was trying to smile while I was listening to that song).
I'm listening to the Cure since I was born.
But the first Cure Album I bought was "Greatest Hits" the limited edition, a few years ago!!!

Now I am a 17-year-old girl and I'm still crazy about the CURE!! I LOVE THEM!!

Friday I'm in love

It was constantly shown/played on MTV back then and I liked it. I got myself the Wish album and bought Pornography and Disintegration shortly after that. Never looked back...

The first song I heard was The Hanging Garden, way back in '82. It was on an '80s alternative hits album that my sister gave me for xmas. I remember instantly loving Robert's voice! Then I got myself another 80s hits album & Charlotte Sometimes was on it, again, I loved it instantly! I was desperate to hear more Cure, so I went out & found Pornography, then Faith, Seventeen Seconds & Boys Don't Cry. No one else I knew had heard of them & it was only when I saw the video for The Walk, on The Tube, that I finally knew what Robert looked like & boy, was he gorgeous! I remember when The Lovecats was released, everyone suddenly went mad for them, thinking that they were a new band! I was angry about them suddenly becoming so popular! Over the years I have been in & out of love with The Cure, not liking some of the more recent stuff! But now, I love almost everything about them & like most of the albums. I am absolutely smitten again! I especially love the early albums, they will always be special for me!

Close To Me on the school bus, I must have been about 14? It actually made me feel ill. I literally just couldn't stomach it. I remember because no other song has ever had that effect. I actually started listening to The Cure when I was 17.

The first album I bought was either Standing on a Beach or Mixed up - I can't remember which.

I was about a sweet 14 years old girl who heard her first Cure song in the Rock "pub"...that was the Bloodflowers.
After I really wanted to listen that album,but I didn't find anywhere...but I found an other album of The Cure in the libary...that was the Wish :)

Around 1984 i first saw Primary on the famous Rock Arena television show. I think it was concept of two bass guitars being played that intrigued me.
Our city public library had cassette tapes in those days you could lend and amonggst their highly sofisticated catolouging system which comprised about ten plastic containers with about 50 cassettes in each were Faith, Seventeen Seconds and Boys Don't Cry. I'm guessing that by borrowing these tapes and copying them onto blank cassettes on the now prehitoric but at the time revolutionary "tape to tape" i was in fact downloading these albums for free.
My first real purchase was Japanese Whispers. I managed to get The Top on cassette by salvaging a copy that a friend had left in their car during a hot day and the plastic had buckled so i undid the screws and transferred the tape to another cassette body. I still have all these cassettes in a box although i legally purchased all the albums and deluxe versions etc on CD over the years.

SINKING my highschool boyfriend made me a mixed tape, I was laying in bed after school one winter evening and that song came on, it blew my mind I think I listened to it about 100 times in a row after that I went and bought every cure record that existed and lived happily ever after ;)

The Cure first hit the US in the 80's, with Disintegration being where they really exploded. I remember seeing some of the videos of that era, the spiderman stuff, and the intense, moody-looking performance videos. I thought their sound was pretty good on Lovesong and I really liked Fascination Street (still do), but overall I thought they were kind of weird. This was more a reflection of where I was in my life at that time.

Fast forward a few years, I got married and my spouse brought her copy of "Mixed Up" into the relationship, and it grew on me. The funny thing about that is that I knew the re-mix versions of these songs better than the original releases, so when one would come on the radio, I'd get really confused! Anyway I still like the opening riff of "It's Never Enough."

My interest in The Cure never really expanded from that point due to work and having kids. However, my 18-year-old daughter just recently discovered The Cure and asked us why we never told her about them. Because of her, and her Itunes, he he, I've been listening to 17 Seconds, Wish, Disintegration, Bloodflowers, The Cure, and the Oddities and Rarities compilation. But I'm rambling. I feel like I missed getting to know The Cure and their music in my youth, but it's never too late right?

"Let's Go To Bed" the very first time the video appeared on Mtv... i hit the record stores and completely filled my music library with anything that was available. I was greatly impressed at the time with "A Forest" and probably listened to it over a million times. I have been an avid "the Cure" fan ever since.

My first song was Boy don´t cry when I was 15 in 1985, here (Argentina), the only LP was Standing on a beach -the singles, so that it was my first album!!!

The first Cure song i've ever heard...uhm...I think it was Friday I'm in love, my best friend convinced me to watch the video :P later I also discovered Close to me, Lullaby and Pictures of you, and now I love all their albums *-*

I have just re-discovered pornography and I have decided .it is my favourite album in the world ever.it is very aptly titled as it is stark and bare emotions which are very addictive, 20 years of addiction for me. i can't seem to stop playing it and i like every track
