Cure Festival 2005

I was really pleased to pick up a copy of Cure Festival 2005 a few days ago.

I really like it, it has all the "Dark" songs.

Was never a fan of the 'Pop' stuff.

30 Tracks.

From The Cover:
"In 2005 a Nascent Cure trio of Robert Smith, Simon Gallop and Jason Cooper celebrated the return of former Guitarist Porl Thompsonwith a series of nine eclectic headline festival shows across Europe.

This is a nice change in every way to the somewhat sombre "The cure - Trilogy", recorded / performed in Berlin November 2002.

I love both DVD's but the "Cure Festival 2005" takes me back to the early eighties, when I thought I was the only person who listened to The Cure. The more "eclectic" stuff, guitar based, and heavily 'Cure sounding guitar sound' hit me as still being modern !
Kind of rough production visually, but sounds great in 5.1. The Visual production was obviously planned to be 'Artistic' rather than a crisp, clean record of the performances.
Must say I love this DVD, and the memories of earlier days in the life of The Cure.

Agreed. The poppier stuff really isn't their best. I love all the old stuff, and the older concerts. Another plea for Show, etc to be released on DVD! ;-)
