Entreat Plus double vinyl

Did anyone order this, and receive it yet? I know of 2 that have found good homes ;-)

Hey Cats! How are you dear? As you know, I had pre-ordered mine from UMG UK for delivery to the States and the order went through, no problem. On November 30, my credit card was charged and I received confirmation that my package had shipped. I still have yet to receive anything, however.

Last week I sent an inquiry to UMG UK and they confirmed that it was sent out via international post, which could potentially take up to 21 working days, so now my issue seems to be with the USPS. :( Hopefully it will turn up! I really want to see and hear that pretty vinyl art!!!

You must be so excited to open your Christmas present!

I gave mine to my sister yesterday so she could wrap it up and then give it to me for Christmas. I'll then have the dilemma of whether to unwrap it or not! ;-)

Their inserts and album covers aren't flimsy afterthoughts. Specific materials were intentionally selected in order to create an object that appropriately compliments their beautiful musical art. When The Cure create something, it's a complete sensory experience from when you first hold it in your hands to when you listen to the music and interpret the words and tones. :) WHEN I receive my Entreat Plus, I'll take a photo of it and put it up on Flickr so you can see the vinyl. So how many mint, unopened, still-in-shrinkwrap LPs do you have then? You have remarkable will power!

Isn't each Entreat Plus vinyl record supposed to be UNIQUE, though??? I would have to open mine up and have a look.

I have a few sealed vinyls, the oldest sealed one being Why Can't I Be You, but i'm itching to open the Entreat one due to the unique marbling!! Aaaargh! ;-)

When we got together, we made Norwegian rosette cookies and hung all the little tumbling socks on my Cure Christmas tree. Wouldn't that be cool if we ended up having sequentially numbered editions? I'm still hoping mine just got held up in a barrage of holiday mail. :)

Did you have a nice visit with your mother and sister? Did you have to drive very far to see your husband's family? I hope you had a really wonderful holiday!

I stayed in Los Angeles this year and spent the holiday with friends - and it ended up being a very Cure-related Christmas. My closest friend and I had a rule that we couldn't buy each other gifts, so we ended up exchanging some really fantastic and fun handmade Cure-themed/inspired art and art objects. We didn't specify ahead of time that the gifts should be Cure-related, but we each knew the other would probably appreciate a Cure gift more than anything else, so of course that's what we made for each other.

When we got together, we made Norwegian rosette cookies and hung all the little tumbling socks on my Cure Christmas tree. I put some Bass ale in the batter for the cookies so I guess that made them a bit Cure-themed as well LOL. They were really good!

The other friend (from curecolours) got an early number, in the 100's, the lucky girl! ;-) I'm sure yours has got held up. From what people have been saying, non-UK orders have been very tardy! Plus there's the usual holiday-period mail backlog; you'd think they'd learn by now! ;-) We had a lovely visit when my mum and sister came over, had a lovely meal and watched the UK 3D premiere of Avatar! We'd already seen it in 3D at the cinema but those two had only seen it normally. My husband's family only live about 3/4 miles away, and there was no snow or ice once we were on the main roads - residential areas are a bit slick, I was sliding up our road earlier today! It was all really nice!! It's great you and your friend decided to exchange handmade gifts! I think that is a lot better than store-bought gifts as there's the extra thought and effort that goes into them. We experienced that on a small scale when my husband's brother and girlfriend made him a picture made of A-ha fliers and the ticket from when they both saw them at a one-off concert at the Royal Albert Hall. It was really good, and unique :-) And Cure gifts are always good :-) Norwegian cookies?! I'm still loving Norwegian things, after our visit there ;-) My favourite fella has changed for the meantime ;-) I still have the Cure socks that you sent :-) When I log onto the Flickr app on my iPhone your Cure tree is usually the first picture that shows on the slideshow! :-) Quote

Fingers crossed!!! I really hope it arrives here safely! What sort of packaging did they ship it in? Was there a lot of bubble wrap in a large box or did it simply arrive in a very stiff package the shape of an LP? I need to file a case with the USPS, so it will help to know what sort of package they should be looking for. Hopefully they can find it - or it's just delayed like the others. It's been 22 working days now, so I'm definitely concerned. I still haven't seen Avatar, but I really need to. Since you've seen it twice, I imagine you really liked it a lot? My friend that's writing that graphic novel keeps bugging me about it, so I'll try to see it this week. For our part, I put on Blackadder's Christmas Carol while we were decorating our Cure tree and then we watched Spirited Away later. That A-ha collage that your husband received sounds really cool! What sort of packaging did they ship it in? Was there a lot of bubble wrap in a large box or did it simply arrive in a very stiff package the shape of an LP? I need to file a case with the USPS, so it will help to know what sort of package they should be looking for. Hopefully they can find it - or it's just delayed like the others. They shipped it in a really firm cardboard box, but there wasn't any bubblewrap or anything, which I was surprised at. It arrived unscathed though :-)

I've seen Avatar about 5 times in total :-) We have it on DVD and watched it a few times, then went to the cinema to see the directors cut in 3D, then again on Christmas Eve when Sky had the premiere, which was also in 3D :-) it's a really good film ;-)

Thanks Cats! That helps a lot! I'll file a report with the USPS, but hopefully my Entreat Plus will turn up soon! :)

I'm going to check out Avatar ASAP!

Hehe! I recorded some screaming tracks for them here but I think my voice was too high-pitched for what they were looking for. My buddy said my screams sounded more like I was in the throes of passion than being chased by a monster. As if he'd know lol. ;-)

That's the likely scenario. I imagine they sold out quite quickly, can't really believe they only made 1000 to be honest!

I agree! 1,000 is such a small segment of the Cure-loving population! Even if I don't ever get my album it's nice to know I was supposed to be one of the lucky few anyway.

So there's you, me, two other people you know of and then 996 others who are apparently quiet lurkers out there? They probably didn't offer all 1,000 for sale, though. Probably retained a small portion of them. I would want one for myself, too, if I were them. :)

I received the initial e-mail confirmation of my order on 18 Nov at 11:30 AM Los Angeles time, which would have been 19:30 GMT. When did you (and anyone else out there) receive yours? For anyone else in the States who tried to order Entreat Plus but was unable to, what time did you attempt to place an order? In the comments for the Entreat Plus news item, I saw one person in the States tried to order at GMT 22:45 but was unable to. On a (perhaps) hopeful note as far as my own shipment is concerned, someone from Austria posted a comment today that she had ordered 2 copies and only one had arrived thus far. So perhaps there's hope for me yet if I'm not the only one who's still missing a copy. She also mentioned that the one she received had shipped from Switzerland. Is that where yours originated, Cats? Maybe we can figure out about when they sold out. I received the initial e-mail confirmation of my order on 18 Nov at 11:30 AM Los Angeles time, which would have been 19:30 GMT. When did you (and anyone else out there) receive yours?

For anyone else in the States who tried to order Entreat Plus but was unable to, what time did you attempt to place an order?

In the comments for the Entreat Plus news item, I saw one person in the States tried to order at GMT 22:45 but was unable to.

On a (perhaps) hopeful note as far as my own shipment is concerned, someone from Austria posted a comment today that she had ordered 2 copies and only one had arrived thus far. So perhaps there's hope for me yet if I'm not the only one who's still missing a copy. She also mentioned that the one she received had shipped from Switzerland. Is that where yours originated, Cats?

YAY! I'm really happy for you that you received yours! It's too bad about the crease. I think it's nice that you opened it up to appreciate your unique vinyl. I only just got a DVD recorder and hooked it up to my VCR for the sole purpose of preserving the content on my frail Cure VHS tapes - as well as the 2 Cure HD concerts I have on my DVR (MTV Rome 2008 and HDNet's 4Play in Charlotte 2008), just in case something horrible happens and those get wiped out.

I love those VHS tapes with all that lovely candid and live footage... and the videos that, for whatever reason, never made it onto the Greatest Hits DVD. How did Play For Today not make it as a "Greatest Hit"?!?!?!? They have so many great songs, though. I'm sure it was very difficult to choose which to include on that DVD. It will be a very happy day when ALL Cure music videos, including those from The Cure and 4:13 Dream, are available on DVD. :)

I still haven't received my Entreat Plus, but the guy from UMG UK said my order was shipped from the UK. I gave him my USPS inquiry case number, but I'm not sure what he'll be able to do about it. :(

No, unfortunately it shipped long ago on November 30th - I had just asked where it had been sent from so I could tell the USPS where the package was coming from. I would have assumed it shipped from the UK, but someone in Austria said hers had come from Switzerland. :(

Dependable I'd say eil.com but that can be very expensive! Failing that, I go to eBay :-)

My Entreat Plus has officially been given up for lost. I've been corresponding with a nice guy at UMG UK and they've offered me a refund since it's not possible to replace my lost record. <sobs>

They really didn't have to refund my money because it was more likely lost by the postal service over here - and it wasn't insured. The UMG guy said they were unable to advise me which number would have been mine, either, but he was empathetic and made the attempt to find out for me. I didn't end up with an album, but at least the customer service part of the experience was handled well.
