Wish Remaster/Deluxe Edition... coming soon?

I've only seen this briefly discussed on one other forum... I assume after Disintegration, the Wish Deluxe Edition is next? I've been waiting for Lost Wishes and other rare/unreleased sessions from the Wish era since 1992/93!

Does anyone have any insight into the release of this? There's a list, which includes the b-sides which were on Join The Dots (asterisked). Hopefully there's a fair amount of rare studio material and less live stuff from the Wish era.

Re: Wish Remaster/Deluxe Edition... coming soon?

Here's hoping we see it later this year...

Here's how it'll possibly be:
Disc one: the original album
Disc two: Lost Wishes, home demos, studio demos (like Heart Attack, Old England, Sllvy), unreleased tracks
Disc three (hopefully): live versions, but wishing for the complete unplugged show

The b-sides you listed won't be on the set because they were all on the Join the Dots box; the remixes most likely wouldn't be there if RS is following the way the other sets have come out. It's possible those remixes will be on Mixed Up 2?

No news on a release date, but I am hoping Lost Wishes will be on it, as I only have the cassette (which I can't play as I don't have a cassette player anymore) and poor-ish quality MP3 versions... :-)

Re: Wish Remaster/Deluxe Edition... coming soon?

I hope there's not many live tracks. There's certainly enough material in terms of unreleased songs, instrumentals (Lost Wishes etc.), alternate mixes and demos for 2 or even 3 discs. The live stuff is already out there and always a bummer for me on these reissues. I guess the complete unplugged show would be cool as disc 3... some of those versions are interesting and add to the era as a whole. Options:

Disc 1:
1 Open (6:51)
02 High (3:37)
03 Apart (6:40)
04 From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea (7:44)
05 Wendy Time (5:13)
06 Doing the Unstuck (4:24)
07 Friday I'm in Love (3:39)
08 Trust (5:33)
09 A Letter to Elise (5:14)
10 Cut (5:55)
11 To Wish Impossible Things (4:43)
12 End (6:46)

Disc 2:
High (Single mix)
High (Higher remix)
High (Trip mix)
Open (Fix mix)
Friday I'm In Love (Single mix)
Friday I'm In Love (Strangelove remix)
A Letter To Elise (Single mix)
A Letter To Elise (Blue mix)
A Letter To Elise (Extended mix)
A Letter To Elise (Semi-instrumental)
Uyea Sound (Instrumental)
Cloudberry (Instrumental)
Off To Sleep (Instrumental)
The Three Sisters (Instrumental)
The Big Hand (Instrumental)
Old England (Instrumental) ?
Heart Attack (Instrumental) ?
Decadence ?
Wedding Dance ?
Silvy?

Demos would be less preferable but probably what we'll get instead. If so, I hope there's an epic two disc Mixed Up 2 with all those alternate mixes above. The Disintegration Deluxe Edition has only demos and rough versions which was a disappointment.

Mixed Up 2 and Lost Wishes is a must. You're right in that live tracks are all very well and good, but a lot of them are on youtube etc ;-)

If Roger's hints on Twitter after Bestival ("Good things to come before the end of the year") are anything to go by, we could be seeing this very soon..
But my hunch is he was more steering in the direction of the Reflections DVD release..
We shall have to wait and see.. as we've just found out, the group are still very much full of surprises!!

So has anybody heard when the next batch of reissues is going to be? Not sure why it takes years in between each reissue (the first three were released in 2004 I believe), and here it's 2012 and we're only up to Disintegration??

Re: Wish Remaster/Deluxe Edition... coming soon?

Open letter to Universal Music Group (UMG):

UMG Dear Sirs, I write a humble fan of the band The Cure, and more specifically about his great series of Deluxes editions of some of the most representative artists that their "major" has been recently purchased. First, we have to thank them, because it is thanks to You, which has been re-edit all the old stuff from The Cure since its inception in 1979 with "Three Imaginary Boys" (re-released by UMG in 2004) to the more recent "Disintegration" (re-released by UMG in 2010).With Deluxe editions, we can enjoy CD quality unreleased tracks and many rarities not-published to date!

The Cure published in 1992 with Fiction Records, one of his best and most successful albums comprising all his extensive discography: "Wish". 2012 marks an anniversary for the group led by Robert Smith, the 20th anniversary summit of this album in the discography of The Cure: "Wish", which contains some of his most representative songs like "Friday, I'm Love" or "A Letter To Elise" and a lot of good new songs composed between 1991-93 and rarities such as "Lost Wishes" instrumental demos and live versions of other live albums "Show" and "Paris" .

From Hispacure, please take into account this anniversary and we celebrate the twentieth anniversary, by the end of 2012, a legendary album in the history of the Cure and music in general: "Wish".

Sincerely,
a spanish fan
