Profile should be only on THECURE.COM

Profile should be only on THECURE.COM

that said it all. I should not be able to see my profile on Lady Gaga or any other band or artist forum.

Re: Profile should be only on THECURE.COM

Another good one....I don't really like being Snoop Dog's forum member (nothing against Snoop Dog, just don't like his music so why should it show I'm a member of his forum!).

Re: Profile should be only on THECURE.COM

I just googled myself (again) and found that my profile, here, was on yet another HARD CORE rapper's page that I never heard of in my life nor want to ever know. the connection that is doing all this cross referenced profile damage is this multi sign in set up whereas now, we are all farmed out to every place affiliated with any of it and, honestly, i feel violated. i have enough violated feelings in my life without having my profile google-able and showing up in places that I don't want anyone to even think i am in any way affiliated and would not be EVER.

this is way worse than having a cookie inserted up the wahzoo.

can this be fixed or not?

Re: Profile should be only on THECURE.COM

well, this has been flogged to death before..I think way back when, when someone, I think it was Hooligal, alerted us all to this, some of us read the fine print for when you sign up here... and in that fine print comes the explanation that having our profiles all over other artists forums was the way it was going to be..
don't like it, but that's the way it is....
That's why a lot of us,on our own profile pages, added a little spiel about only being Cure fans, and that our profile showing on (whatever page) did not constitute supporting that artist..

i agree...............but its not the cure's fault, anything on the public web, unfortunatly is public snoopable.............no way around it.. so if u dont like it, use a fake name with no attachment.

Re: Profile should be only on THECURE.COM

even my recent portrait of Robert was on it! I just put that up the other day.

i don't want to blackball a band i don't know or don't like just because of this. i think bands have enough challenges getting their foot through doors as it is, especially when they're new on the scene. but this is ridiculous.

seriously.

1 - there's no fine print when you register
2 - it was BobySmiley that posted the privacy rules at the bottom of each page
3 - if you didn't read/saw them before you register, you are screw.

well, there is "fine print" as you call it... in the terms and conditions of signing up to be part of this forum... How many people just click on the "I agree" button without reading every word?... Most people, I would say..
whilst you may have been alerted to this fact by bobsmiley, Hooligal was the one who pointed it out to many of us, after she "googled" herself quite some time ago, which we all did, and found we were on other artists sites... this was months ago...
and yes, if you didn't read the full terms and conditions, and realised that this was going to happen, you were "screwed"..

So, I register again... AND THERE IS NO FINE PRINT.
Now, can you show me where I miss it ? (the answer is NO)
The only fine print for this forum is the one at the bottom of the page
under the UMG Privacy Policy link.

Now, we are abused by the registration system since THERE IS NO FINE PRINT
that said that my profile will be on all bands of Universal Music Group.

One last thing : THERE IS NO FINE PRINT AT REGISTRATION TIME EVEN IN THE CONFIRMATION E-MAIL

keep your hat on boby...
well, I know I read the terms and conditions when I signed up... can't quite remember where it was, but it was there..2 years ago, this was..
no need to yell...
and if it bothers you so much, how come you keep signing in as different names?
when you know your profile is going to end up all over the internet..
I can't be bothered finding the thread where the terms and conditions were copied and pasted... but, it was there..... because when we found out about all of this, quite a few of us did go and re-read those terms and conditions, so they are there somewhere...maybe they've changed the signing in pages, I wouldn't know, as I only ever sign in as my original registered name...
