Suggestions for site-based improvements

The old site included interests pages for each member of the band. I think reviving that might help make this site seem a little less sterile and corporate and a little more like a band page. Archiving key interviews in the media section might be nice, too (took me half an hour rooting around in old directories on my machine to find an interview with Simon from the October '04 issue of Bass Player just to see if the wiki page was right about his preferred bass). Perhaps, for gear-heads and aspiring musicians alike, a list of what instruments/pedals/etc each member of the band uses on tour would be nice. Can't seem to find much more of the old site in my files, but in theory, although all of that would take some time to compile, it wouldn't require extraneous upkeep.

Another, riskier thing that would be cool would be a proper venue for Q&A with the band, but that would certainly demand constant and vigilant moderation... I seem to remember there being such a forum for a very short time, and it likely died off due to an overabundance of personal questions and demands as to when the band would next visit x region, but if it could be done within reason and sanity, it'd be pretty cool...

I noticed that the vast majority of the suggestions were heavily focused on the forums, so I thought it worthwhile to add my thoughts regarding the site itself.

I think they should completely revert back to the old format. It's been a pretty naff layout for a long time!

Yes, I totally agree with this. Though I've registered to this site years ago, I never got any newsletter.
I've tried to post a comment about this on the forum, but I can't do so. There's no link or button to click on or whatsoever to post my own thread.
Sorry if I'm rambling on, but I'm really disappointed with this website.
I get informations about limited editions sold on this site (e.g. Disintegration vinyl) when they appear on ebay, I hear about concerts - after they're sold out...
This seems to me like a record company's approach to things: never mind who buys, just as long as we sell all we've got. Not the way a band should treat their fans..
Well, sorry, but it's a frustrating experience...
So, am I simply too stupid, or is this site trying to keep fans away from the Cure, more than keeping in touch with them ?

Re: Suggestions for site-based improvements

If they could sell tickets to us loyal fans first...because i was really disappointed I coould not find tickets for the ticket master price and i saved for this show. I have been a loyal fan for 23 years and love Robert Smith and think he is so talented but this ticket scamming thing has made me upset and could not believe the way things are going for these tickets . If anyone has two tickets for sale please please please get back to me.

Re: Suggestions for site-based improvements

My only comment at this moment is navigation and usability. The site seems to lack a well defined navigation system, specially in the forum section. If one needs to move forward to see newer postings, one has to scroll up and down, click here and there and finally get to the next page.

Therefore, navigation is a big issue that needs to be addressed.

Re: Suggestions for site-based improvements

Just a suggestion .. check out the set up on NiN.com forums. Organization with proper sub forums is key. Or you'll have people posting all kinds of stuff everywhere.

Again, just a suggestion.

Hope to become more active here .. I love the Cure.

Edit: LOTS of potential here. I know there are Cure fans everywhere who are very passionate about this band with lots of things to share.
