APPLICATION FOR SITE MODERATOR

I hereby put myself forward to apply for the post of moderator on this site.
If there is still anyone around with any authority to grant this I would be interested to hear from you.
It's been a long time since anything benefitting the forumites has been seen. We need someone (or some people) to monitor this once great site and erase all the spam posts and keep the 'riff-raff' out once and for all. Btw....'riff-raff- is how I (Personally) see certain people or companies totally using up space for plying their trade....ie...the golf spammers.
So, as I said, IF there is anyone with any clout and you're looking for someone to 'do the business' as they say, I'm that person.
"Oh, but you've only been a member for a short while" I hear people saying.
BULLSHIT!!!! I have been a regular here since at least 1996, remembering the old Wild Mood Swings themed site.
I've seen decent people come and decent people go. It's time that this once great site becomes great again and hopefully we can get back to how things USED to be.

It's an interesting thought Erik and possible of course.
However, I don't think so...call it female intuition if you like. :)
I think we can safely say that Geffen/UMG have nothing to do with it, as they parted company years ago now.
I think....and Suz will probably kick off at me again for daring to have an opinion lol....someone from The Cure or someone close to them is keeping this place going but apart from the rare 'news' they are leaving this place to its own devices.

I cannot imagine that I would disagree with another person so vehemently, I might need to be gagged and forcibly removed from perception. Personally, I don't give a F--K who the mediator is because she/he should for the most part go unnoticed.

I agree with leahcl.
I haven´t known you a long time, but my impression about you is that you are preety good at seeings things from an outside point of view and are good to mediate between parties :-)
But on the other hand, if you are a bit burn out and is busy......

at the bottom line I dont know if I am pro or against mods here. haven´t been here long enough to have see the pro and cons :-)

It's all hypothetical though.
There is not the slightest inkling that whoever is running this site is interested in the appointment of any moderators.
I do agree that this is not a job for one person, it's far too time consuming.
Maybe one from each hemisphere would be a good idea, not only for the the democratic approach to any problems etc....but also there should be at least one mod keeping an eye on the board at any one time.
So possibly one for USA/Canada....one from Europe...and one from Australia....just as suggestions?
But......saying that, I wouldn't hold my breath! :)

Once upon a time this place was supposed to have mailboxes set up for PMs but they were removed. My guess is someone decided everything had to be kept out in the open. Even in our profiles there is no privacy. It is set up for fiery confrontations amoungst other things and I don't actually think under those conditions moderating this site would be easy for anyone.

Thanks Leah. It wouldn't be an easy job, as like you said in your later post, with all the privacy taken away etc there would be a LOT to clean up first. I remember people like Violetta begging the record company to remove all the abusive comments she was getting on her profile page. So upsetting!
