Haha ancient! My mum thinks it's crazy I like them cause she did when she was my age. But I like to think I'm the youngest.
6/23/2011 2:14 AM (GMT-04:00)
Hey TheCurexox, there is already a thread about being the youngest Cure fan but I'm qutie sure you are one of the youngest that I have seen post on here :) I'm sixteen and my Mum also think it's amazing that I adore them as she used to like their music when she was young and would dance to their music at clubs. She can't believe that I've actually seen them live, only a few weeks ago :) I called her during The Lovecats and held my phone out the whole time so she could hear. Reflections was absolutely extraordinary and they surpassed all of my expectations. It was actually one of the best nights of my life :)
6/23/2011 3:42 AM (GMT-04:00)
Oh wow, your so lucky to have seen them live! Was that in Australia? Yes my mum thinks it's crazy she said I'm just like her when she was my age. I think it's a good thing, we always have something to talk about.
6/23/2011 12:05 PM (GMT-04:00)

What is it like being -15? Do you have an opinion on the current pop music, seeing as you are negative fifteen it might appeal to you?

I'm 15 and I've been listening to The Cure since I was 14, so not all that long. I only know a few songs that aren't singles, otherwise all the songs I know are singles. I've only got two of The Cure's CDs, Staring at the Sea and Galore. So, yeah, I'm 15, nearly 16, my birthday's in October. October 2nd.

Hello Em147 and welcome to the forum :) How are you?
7/25/2011 2:49 PM (GMT-04:00)
I am rather glad my dad got me into The Cure. He said to me "Em, I know a band that will be right up your street," or something along those lines, "The Cure."

Thanks, Basileus, I'll look out for him next time I go on Youtube. Could you please tell me what songs he does? That might help me a bit don't you think, if I know what I'm typing in there?
Oh, and you know I play stuff on my keyboard by ear. Cool. I don't make a living of it. Or even my stories. I don't know what I'm going to do with those, and I play my keyboard for fun now, but I might be in a band one day, you never know.
7/29/2011 4:18 PM (GMT-04:00)
...you're still young...there is no rush...enjoy life....take lessons somewhere or study chords on the net...Nirvana only played like 3 chords...most punk bands did....just do a search for his name, it'll come up...he is popular enough....get a YT account make some vids and do the ad sense for a little income...some people make a few cheques a year and some make $100,000 a year...it depends how you work it and how creative you are, you can't troll, not like I do here :) it is all love and roses over there....

I know I'm only 15, but I leave school soon and my school doesn't have a 6 form. And I used to have piano lessons a while ago. I didn't really like it and I found trying to read music hard, so I got nowhere with that, so just because I know where all the notes are, I can play stuff by ear. And I'm thinking of getting myself a bass guitar and my brother, 13, plays the guitar and he has an electric guitar and an acoustic guitar. I use the acoustic one as a bass guitar sometimes, when I don't want to play my keyboard, or read, or write [if I haven't got writer's block like I have now.]
P.S. I can play a few chords [ACE, FAC, GBD are the ones I play when I'm playing The Lovecats] I also write my own stuff sometimes, but I wouldn't say it's that good.
Know anyone who plays guitar or bass guitar, because I'm going to type the notes I play as you'd see them on a thing guitarists use called a TAB.
E - - 12
A - 0 -
D 0 - - x4
G - - -
E - - 10
A - 0 - x4 You play all that x4 before
D 0 - - going to this next bit:
G - - -
E - - 8
A - 0 - x4
D 0 - -
G - - -
E - - 7
A - 0 - x4 Then you play all that x4
D 0 - - before you start from the
G - - - first little TAB. You play
all that x3.
Once you've done the last part for the 4th time, you go on to
E - - 5 E - - 7 E - - 8
A - 0 - x4 then A - 0 - x4 then A - 0 - x4
D 0 - - D 0 - - D 0 - -
G - - - G - - - G - - -
E - - 10 - - 10 - - 10 - - 10 - - 10 - - 10 - - 10 - -

...I am lost with guitar things, I do play some piano/keyboard and lately have been playing some Chopin...if you have a Mac, Garage Band has lessons you can purchase, I don't know for how much...as I don't use that feature, or even if you have to purchase it...but Garage Band is kind of fun, I have to upgrade my MacBook to '11, i still have '09...Macs are the best....
7/31/2011 12:56 AM (GMT-04:00)
OK, so you don't know guitar stuff... right. No, I don't have one of those Mac things, sorry. But should I look out for one?

My daughter is 13 and loves the cure! :)
11/19/2011 6:18 PM (GMT-04:00)
My eldest daughter, who is 18, has liked them since she was little! My other daughter is 10 & she likes them too, but only the jolly stuff! My husband has liked them since he was 15. I have loved them since I was 14, which means I have been a fan for 30 years! My black cocker spaniel, Bob, is sadly not a fan!
11/19/2011 6:42 PM (GMT-04:00)
If asked, my youngest niece with boldly admit (at age almost 7) "I love The Cure and Robert Smiff."
11/19/2011 10:21 PM (GMT-04:00)
My son loves the Cure and has for a while. Of course that is due to the influence of his obssessed mom. Who knows if he'll really love them when he's older. (He's 5). One of his first words were "Ber Smee" which translates to Robert Smith. Not sure if I should be telling you guys this as it is probably a bad case of obssessive admiration spilling into parenting!
11/20/2011 3:47 PM (GMT-04:00)
I LOVE the Cure and I am only 13. My phone went off in English by accident ( the ringtone was Lullaby) and no one knew who the rintone was except my teacher who then let me off because she loves the Cure too.
1/10/2012 6:07 PM (GMT-04:00)
iv been a cure fans since 15 and im 22 now...:)
1/10/2012 7:24 PM (GMT-04:00)
I'm so happy to see the younger generation appreciate the Cure. Their music really is ageless.
1/11/2012 9:20 AM (GMT-04:00)
Probably does not count but my dog (Dogl) has been known to sing along when I play music although not actually registered himself he is only eight months...
1/11/2012 3:15 PM (GMT-04:00)
Okay, you win! No one ever specified if it a fan was defined as human or otherwise!
(that's take loving care! lol)

I'm 15, but I've been a Cure fan since I was around 11 or 12. I wish I could know more people my age who likes The Cure, but unfortunately, I don't know any :(
