| leahcl | Pranks?Just wondering if it is only part of Australian radio culture to make prank phone calls? Over here we just think 'you got me' laugh them off and get on with it... Can't believe a call to the UK could end so tragically. I'm pretty sure that's it, they've now been erased from radio in the future. |

Re: Pranks? It happens here in the US too. Some radio shows are called the "Morning Zoo" and it's all talking, laughing and just generally annoying material(especially if you are not a morning person)Prank phone calls and making fun of everything and everyone is the normal format it seems. To my knowledge nothing like this has happened here. This is really sad.

Re: Pranks?Yeah I kind of thought as much. I've heard the tape and the accents the DJs used were really bad. The nurse was not Engish and had the Receptionist been there I doubt the call would have got through Terribly unfortunate.

Re: Pranks?there's now a lynchmob chasing after the 2 DJs. the whole event is very sad but you can tell by their voices that the DJs were shocked that they got past the first reception call. The hospital are claiming that they were supportive towards the nurse, but with todays blame culture and the need to be seen to do something, I reckon they would have suspended the nurse.
