I love record store day,I hope The Cure re release some more albums this year, I'm hoping for KM KM KM,and 4:13 Dream, I was in work last year and had to beg the store owner to keep me some albums over the phone, its against the rules apparently!!

KM KM KM is going to be re released on red vinyl, as well as the Glove on blue vinyl, although that might not be available in the UK, the home page is down so can only check US list, quite a bit is also released on CD this year so worth a look, 100's of stuff to be released/re issued,you might find something you like!

Its not just for those people who have record players, although a lot of stuff is on vinyl,the albums I bought last year included a voucher for a MP3 version of the album, which in The Cure's case were albums remastered by Robert from the original tapes. I agree a lot of the releases will become collectors items, David Bowie is releasing two new tracks and a picture disc reissue, all limited numbers, so yes his fans will certainly want to collect those.I would love to have a copy of The Black Keys/Stooges single but again limited number so probably won't be lucky. I imagine the business generated by this' day ' will allow some of these stores to keep their business viable, they don't charge silly prices just a fair price, it is I believe set by the organisers,the future would be bleak if the only place we eventually can buy music is from internet companies, surely their prices will rocket then! Obviously not everyone has a local record store near them and choice and price is important to us all, but if you can support these stores' I think you would be pleasantly surprised by their prices and the choice available, and isn't it nice to talk to people who are informative and enthusiastic about the product they sell? OK, after that my local store better get at least one thing in I want... and no I don't work in a record store!! Quote

I think it is a pity so many smaller independent stores are closing,and for record stores I think this idea has generated a lot of interest.
