I'm actually with my family this holiday, AND it snowed!! Perfect! My little niece had such a blast tearing into her presents. She mostly like to play with the wrapping paper. Christmas is so much fun with little ones around. She was so happy! I'd give anything to see Morrisey, especially if he sang a good mix of Smith's and his own stuff. It's totally worth the travel, expense, etc to see a show like that! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family! Take care :)

Ok, I know you hate the golf club spammers as much as I do.. there is a link on one of the threads in the main forum and some of us are going to their site and spamming the crap out of them. Wanna help? Maybe they will get the hint?! Have fun seeing Morrisey! I'm so jealous! Don't know if he's coming to The U.S. or not. I've never seen him :(

I can't believe it's December, I've been so busy with my job. I work in a pharmacy, so it's craaazzy busy because of flu/cold outbreaks. It's pandemonium! Wow, I'm so jealous that you get to see Morrisey! The Smith's are one of my favorite bands and I like alot of his solo stuff too. It's kinda like Bauhaus, I love Peter Murphy's solo work, but like Bauhaus better. I hope you have a great time! let me know how it goes, maybe you can get some pix and out them up for us! Yeah, I'm at a loss for gifts with my fiancee.. I will just let him pick out what he wants and buy it for him! Same thing with my dad, he has everything,,eh, what can you do? Good to hear from you :)

Hahaha! As a wee girl I have seen "Santa" many times. He was always a slight bit creepy to me because I always had a feeling that the man at the shopping mall was not the real Santa. Only the real Santa comes around on Christmas Eve. I've had a few jobs at the mall before the pharmacy industry came calling, and those Rent-a-Claus guys were frightening! haha! Does it ever snow in Australia? White Christmases aren't as common as they used to be. Thanks Global Warming!

I have been fine thanks! Just working a lot and preparing for the Christmas season (I have lots of people to shop for). I can't believe the year is almost over! I have re-discovered my love for the "Lullaby" single and the live version of "Homesick" (except for the people screaming at the beginning of the song..blah!) I'm hoping for a 2013 tour! It's been so long! So whats new with you? Enjoying Spring/Summer? Is it weird that Christmas is in summertime there? haha, just wondered! Great to hear from you :)
Posted by blacklily on 10/17/2012 9:53 PM (GMT-04:00)
man, that stuff is everywhere here, so is The Voice and American Idol. I totally agree with you, I feel that a lot of that stuff has no substance. It's not for me! Wanna buy some golf clubs?! hahaha! I loove The Specials too! been listening to The Damned lately as well :)
Posted by blacklily on 10/16/2012 9:08 PM (GMT-04:00)
I guess I forget that Halloween isn't everywhere! It's huge here, it's the best time for candy! haha! Autumn is in full swing here. Beautiful leaves and crisp air, it makes me happy! What are you listening to lately? I've been into early Cure (Seventeen Seconds) and a little Bauhaus lately.
Posted by blacklily on 10/14/2012 5:04 PM (GMT-04:00)
How are things with you? Doing fine here, getting ready for Halloween, it's just around the corner!
Posted by blacklily on 9/28/2012 7:53 PM (GMT-04:00)
I'm feeling much better thanks! A nasty cold has gotten to almost everyone I know. Tis the season! Autumn has arrived! My favorite season might I add! I just love the cooler weather, rainy days, and beautiful leaves and Halloween too :D I'm glad you're enjoying your spring days and good music! I've been listening to David Bowie alot lately, as well as The Cure (The Top/4:13) Glad to hear from you, talk to you soon :)

I must admit, I've hardly watched any cure shows! Everyone says how good they are, but I've not seen them :-( I must!!
Posted by blacklily on 9/19/2012 9:10 PM (GMT-04:00)
I got this one out the other day..it's one of my favorite live albums! How have you been? I'm getting over a cold/ear thing so I haven't been around much. Hope all is well with you!
Posted by cats_n_cheese on 9/13/2012 3:35 AM (GMT-04:00)
I'm doing good thank you! How are things with you?

Hmm, golf attire would be strangely adorable, kinda like when he wore black nerd glasses in the Mint Car video! :D I'm not a sports fan in any way, but drunk golf with The Cure may be fun! I also adore his speaking voice. I have a copy of NME's 2009 Cure cover's in which Robert does an intro which he calls "a short ramble on the subject" It's like 5 minutes of him explaining the reasons why he or other bands decide to do cover songs. His voice is sweet, yet very eloquent. I've always loved that he can be irreverent, yet refined at the same time. Im a dork! :)
Posted by blacklily on 8/29/2012 7:06 PM (GMT-04:00)
That is the best opening, so English! I also love the little "Thank You" at the end of "A Forest"(I love his speaking voice) That's THE best version of that song I have ever heard! I am in Ohio, so right now we are safe from the hurricane, but the forecast model has it coming up through the midwest and dumping a bunch of much needed rain on us! My grass is brown and my plants are sad :( Thanks for caring! Oh, I also love the idea of a laxative spam! I posted on Robert's page that if he was interested in golf club or sneakers that they could be purchased on the forum! I'm sure he would care! Imagine him in golf attire...hahaha! Hope you are well!
Posted by blacklily on 8/19/2012 9:33 PM (GMT-04:00)

Posted by blacklily on 8/10/2012 10:17 PM (GMT-04:00)
we're gonna start spamming the spammer... any obnoxious spam ideas?
Posted by blacklily on 8/10/2012 7:25 PM (GMT-04:00)
OMG yes, I find myself having to weed through the shoe/golf club spam just to find a legitimate thread anymore! It's either that or Jason being a "bad" drummer threads..annoying! Why don't these people try drumming for the Cure? I'm just glad they are still together! It never used to be this bad. I bet Robert would roll his eyes and say "For F***s Sake"! Haha! Oh, I forgot how AMAZING Concert/Curiosity is! "A Forest"..by far the best version I have ever heard live! His voice is so clear on every song too. That was the album that made me fall in love with The Cure! How about "Shake Dog Shake"? I'm gonna listen to that now, had a crappy day at work and that will make me happier! What other bands do you like?
Posted by blacklily on 8/1/2012 7:22 PM (GMT-04:00)
That's something I haven't listened to in ages! Hmm, I'm gonna get that out and listen to it! There's nothing like seeing The Cure live and playing for 3+ hours! You leave feeling so amazing and good and happy. That feeling stays with me for weeks after. I had a brief interaction with Mr. Smith years ago at Curiosa. I was in the front and he came over to me and just stared at me for like 15 seconds. I smiled and blew a kiss to him and he gave me the biggest most beautiful genuine smile! Then he came back over to me later and sang part of "Close to Me" to me..Good God! It was exhilarating and I thought surely I was dreaming! His presence is so serene, warm and magnetic..he has very kind eyes. I wish everyone could experience something like that, it was one of the best moments of my life and one of my favorite memories. Besides, what other band plays for 3 hours that's worth listening to?! :D
Posted by blacklily on 7/23/2012 9:53 PM (GMT-04:00)
I hope you can see him at some point too! There was such passion in his performing. I had chills! You definitely get the sense that you're seeing something pretty special when you see him live...very much like The Cure! :)
Posted by blacklily on 7/20/2012 9:57 PM (GMT-04:00)
How cool is Nick Cave?! Have you seen him live?
Posted by blacklily on 7/20/2012 9:36 PM (GMT-04:00)
from "The Top"
Posted by blacklily on 7/13/2012 9:21 PM (GMT-04:00)
There are only a few songs that I skip over, and it's usually because they remind me of a rough time in my life..eh exes, they ruin everything, even the best songs! Anyways, I'd freak out if they ever played the entire Japanese Whispers album or anything from The Top. I've seen them 5 times and never heard any songs from those albums :(
Posted by blacklily on 7/7/2012 6:48 PM (GMT-04:00)
no, I dont really go there very much. Do you? I used to read it occasionally and have an account a few years back, but just kinda stopped checking in there. Anyways..I'd loove to hear "Just One Kiss" (the Queen of Siam in my arms, such a lovely line for a girl to hear!) ooh and "Lament". There really aren't any songs on that album that I don't like! :D
Posted by blacklily on 7/6/2012 8:45 PM (GMT-04:00)
You are soo lucky that you got to go! The last show I went to was in 2008 Cleveland for my birthday. I was in the front row right in front of Simon! I got him to smile several times! Very cool! I agree with your Trilogy picks..I'd also like to hear Japanese Whispers (a quadrilogy perhaps?!) haha :)
Posted by blacklily on 7/3/2012 7:30 PM (GMT-04:00)
No, sadly I didn't get to go :( My sister was having a baby around that time, so I wanted to be around home for her. Im in Ohio, so the closest shows would have been in New York, which was a bit of a trek! Did you get to go? What Trilogy would you like to see next?

It sounds like an awful combination but it may suprise you. I personally have not had any squid on top of my ice cream before though. How bad can it be?

I like your name. Random sentance time! I like ice cream and squidnuggets!

i saw them on the 27th July, it was such a great show. i was never really a fan of Man at C&A (or whatever it's called) but hearing it & seeing it live sent shivers up my spine!!

is that you are into them now :) So what is your collection of cure material like?
Posted by astrea on 5/12/2009 6:46 AM (GMT-04:00)
i'm 29 now, so it's not been long. see i had Greatest Hits and Disintegration since about 2005 and i had mistakenly assumed that was it
Posted by icecreamriver on 5/10/2009 9:42 PM (GMT-04:00)
27, but the important thing is you are into them now. So how long have you been a fan? No i didn't take her as she was only 8 at the time and i went GA.
Posted by astrea on 5/9/2009 5:28 AM (GMT-04:00)
that's awesome! i only really discovered The Cure when i was 27 - i felt so cheated that everyone let me live without them for so long. did you take your daughter to their show in 07?
Posted by icecreamriver on 5/8/2009 9:04 PM (GMT-04:00)
My eldest daughter gets into them and knows heaps of songs....... The next daughter is so so and the boys are too little yet.
Posted by astrea on 5/8/2009 5:56 AM (GMT-04:00)
what do your kids think of The Cure?
Posted by icecreamriver on 5/7/2009 12:56 AM (GMT-04:00)
a bit like riding a bike i guess, once you know how to do it it's second nature :)
Posted by astrea on 5/5/2009 6:57 AM (GMT-04:00)
sailing looks pretty complicated though......all those ropes, trying to harness the wind, and paying attention other boats/how close you are to the seabed
Posted by astrea on 5/4/2009 12:37 AM (GMT-04:00)
i'm afraid, but maybe one day. a workmate took us twilight racing a couple of months back. i got to steer, but almost ran us into a buoy! :)
