say kid-i noticed you havent posted in a couple of days. i havent since sunday, i think. i didnt have the pool ready for the 4th of july like i hoped. no swimming for us but we did end up having big BBQ beef ribs (par-boiled, roasted on the grill for charrings then popped in the oven on 350 for an hour or two) baked BBQ beans, homemade potato salad and cornbread. my son, daughter and her boyfriend helped me with the pool on july 5th. we rented a pump from home depot, drained the pool. then a great deal of scrubbing (kitchen scrubbers) and chlorine. we hit the problem areas with muratic acid (pour and wash down quickly). my daughter hopped on line to see what we could do about the black algae and was instructed to use powdered shock, the same way comet or ajax is used. the pool is crystal clear and filling now. i hope all is well with you and the family. i think a bunch of us got spoiled with the terrific goodnight messages you posted. take care and talk to you soon. j.r.

I'm pleased you had a good weekend! We had a few beers on Saturday, even though it started raining, but thankfully we sat most of it out while in wagamama's having some food :) yesterday was beautiful, and a doing-nothing day as well, bliss!! Back to work... Hope you have a good week!!

Birthday to your little girl! I love kid birthday parties. I used to have so much fun coming up with a new party theme for Mad's. Things are good this way. How about you? Working mainly but looking forward to flying out to California in Aug. Going to be staying in SD and see abit of LA too. Also, we are going to be going to see Depeche Mode :)) Aug can't come fast enough. I have also been working on a Robert Smith doll. So far the outcome has been ok. Yes, big shock about MJ. When the news filtered over here about him going to hospital, needing CPR etc, it came to us from a celebrity news channel, so combine that channel with the person, and you never can tell if it's another hoax. But sadly it was no hoax :( well, as you said, live for today. More cheerful occasions, birthdays, more specifically, your little ones birthday! I hope that the day goes fantastically well, and at least you have a freshly mowed lawn! ;) I wish you a lovely weekend x

Our weather is also having a turn for the worse, has been gorgeous weather, and now it's normal English summer weather, damp and drizzle! I hope it clears up soon, for both of us! I do like a little bit of sunshine :) Any plans for the weekend?

i'm so glad you had a good fathers day. i did too. my daughter, her boyfriend and my son all wished me a happy fathers day. i ended up grilling a 5 lb. pack of chicken legs with BBQ sauce, boxed mac and cheese, oven baked BBQ beans and some cornbread muffins... YUMMY. take care and have a good day.
