Amnesty Update: Professor Yury Bandazhevsky Freed

The eminent Belarusian academic Professor Yury Bandazhevsky was conditionally released from prison on August 5, after serving four years of an eight-year sentence, Amnesty International announced today.

The Cure had partnered with Amnesty International Music for Human Rights to adopt an Amnesty International prisoner of conscience, Dr. Yury Bandazhevsky, a radiation health specialist currently serving an eight-year prison sentence in the Republic of Belarus.
