THE CURE COMES STATESIDE FOR LATE NIGHT TV PERFORMANCES – HEADLINES KROQ ALMOST ACOUSTIC CHRISTMAS DECEMBER 14TH

08/12/08

Santa Monica, California, December 8, 2008 ? The Cure will be heading to the states later this week to perform on late night television playing tunes from their recently released thirteenth studio album 4:13 Dream. The band will also be headlining KROQ?s Almost Acoustic Christmas show at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday, December 14th.

On December 11th Robert Smith and company will kick things off with a performance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC). An outdoor concert for Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC) will air December 16th and Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC) will air December 18th.

This U.S. trip comes as The Cure celebrate the release of their thirteenth studio album, 4:13 Dream which has received raves from the media with People Magazine giving the album four stars stating it?s ?a damn near classic Cure album.?

Earlier this year The Cure embarked on a 59 date world tour and over the summer released four singles leading up to the release of 4:13 Dream. At one point all four singles ? ?The Only One,? ?Freakshow,? ?Sleep When I?m Dead,? and ?The Perfect Boy? – appeared in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart! In September the Hypnagogic States EP was released and featured remixes of all four singles by Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance), Pete Wentz & Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy), Jade Puget (AFI) , 30 Seconds To Mars and 65 Days Of Static (who supported The Cure on most of their recent tour).

Led as always by lead singer/guitarist Robert Smith, the Cure line-up comprises long-time members bass player Simon Gallup, drummer Jason Cooper and, back in the band for a third time, guitarist Porl Thompson.
